The Shadows of the Past mission in Stalker 2: Cost of Hope traps Skif inside a distorted version of Lymansk, and one keypad-locked apartment stands between you and the way out. The building loops back on itself, so wandering for a scribbled code in the first room you see leads nowhere. You have to force the environment to change before the code appears on the wall.
Quick answer: The apartment door code in the Looping Area is 2469. Enter it on the keypad to leave the building and continue the mission.

Where the 2469 apartment door is
This locked door sits in the Looping Area of the Anomalous Apartments, reached after you pass through the Looping Hallway and interact with the wounded Duty member on the floor. When the objective updates to “find a way out of the building,” the only exit is the apartment behind the keypad. It is not an optional loot room, so there is no point searching the surrounding halls for the digits at this stage.

The clue does not exist until you reset the loop twice. Each pass changes the layout and eventually drops you back at the keypad with the number written on the wall beside it.

You will know it worked when the keypad unlocks and the looping stops. Beyond the door, the mission continues with a stair descent around an elevator shaft toward the next objective.
All three Anomalous Apartments codes
Three keypad doors appear across the Bubble Dimension during Shadows of the Past. Only the 2469 door is required to finish the mission. The other two hide optional safes stocked with a random mix of ammo, healing items, and RGD-5 grenades.
| Door | Code | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Sniper Area | 1654 | Optional safe with ammo, healing, RGD-5 grenades |
| Courtyard green door | 7812 | Optional safe with ammo, healing, RGD-5 grenades |
| Looping Area | 2469 | Required to continue the mission |
The 1654 clue is painted on a rooftop, visible from a balcony as you follow the traces of Nord and his squad, with that door sitting to the left of the Sniper Area. The 7812 code comes from the license plate of an upside-down car behind the green courtyard door, so you read the numbers right to left to correct for the flipped vehicle.
Before you enter the Bubble
Once you take the Svarog Detector from Erudite’s body and jump into the anomaly at Tachenko’s Memorial, you are committed to the dimension for the rest of the mission. Stock up on ammo and healing items and bring your strongest weapon beforehand. Inside the Bubble, your flashlight, night vision goggles, and PDA map stop working, and stepping into the dark or foggy patches kills you instantly.

With the 2469 door open, the Looping Area is behind you, and Shadows of the Past moves on toward the Duty camp, the anomalous entrances, and the fights waiting beyond the elevator shaft.
