Gotham is coming to LEGO Fortnite Odyssey. The Batman-themed Night Shift event turns the survival sandbox into a crime-fighting sideline, handing out the Batmobile, a Bat Grapple, and eventually Batman himself as a villager you can move into your village. It arrives alongside a batch of new building bricks and some meaningful physics changes for anyone who builds vehicles.
Quick answer: Night Shift runs from September 3 through October 15, with new quests unlocking on September 3, September 10, October 2, and October 8. Complete them to earn the Bat Glider, Bat Grapple, Batmobile, The Bat, and a Bat-Signal, and recruit Batman as a villager starting in update v32.30.
Night Shift event dates and quest drop schedule
The event is split into two drops rather than dumping everything at once. Drop 1 covers September 3 through September 30, and Drop 2 picks up on October 1 and runs to the October 15 finish line. Within those windows, quests unlock on four specific dates, so there is no way to rush the whole thing in a weekend.
| Date | What happens |
|---|---|
| September 3 | Night Shift begins and Drop 1 quests unlock |
| September 10 | Second batch of Drop 1 quests unlocks |
| September 30 | Drop 1 window closes |
| October 1 | Drop 2 window opens |
| October 2 | Drop 2 quests unlock |
| October 8 | Final quest batch unlocks |
| October 15 | Night Shift ends |

Because the reward track is gated behind those dates, the practical approach is to check in after each drop rather than waiting until October. If you leave everything to the final week, you are compressing four batches of quests into a single stretch before the October 15 cutoff.
Batman rewards you can unlock
The reward list leans heavily on traversal. You get one thing for driving, one for flying, one for gliding, and one for pulling yourself across gaps, plus a Bat-Signal to plant somewhere in your world.
| Reward | What it is |
|---|---|
| Batmobile | Ground vehicle |
| The Bat | Flying vehicle |
| Bat Glider | Gliding traversal |
| Bat Grapple | Grappling tool |
| Bat-Signal | Cosmetic build piece |
| Batman | Recruitable villager |

How to earn the gear and recruit Batman as a villager
The quests send you after Gotham’s henchmen. Tracking them down and clearing the associated objectives is what feeds the Bat-themed gear into your inventory, so combat and exploration both matter here rather than pure crafting.
Objectives point you to specific waypoints across the world, including a Storm Chaser Base Camp target that you will be flying or gliding toward. Standard Odyssey traversal rules apply while you close the distance, so double-tapping to take off and land is still how you cover ground quickly.

Batman as a villager is tied to a version, not just a date. He becomes recruitable in update v32.30, so if the option to bring him into your village is missing, confirm the game has actually updated to that build before assuming the quest is bugged.
Note: quests that have not reached their unlock date will not appear at all. Missing content on September 5 is expected behaviour if you are looking for a batch scheduled for September 10.
Gotham henchmen and new locations
Two new enemy types show up with the event. The Gotham Henchman Blaster fights at range, while the Gotham Henchman Slicer closes in for melee. They appear around the Gotham-themed locations added to the world, which is also where the quest chain will spend most of its time.
Worth knowing before you head out: the Lost Isles covers beach, jungle, mountain, and plains terrain, so the gear you pack for one leg of a quest may not be right for the next.
New building bricks: Balloon Brick, Lift, and Proximity Brick
Three additions land on the building side, and they are aimed squarely at people who make things move rather than people decorating houses.
| Brick | What it does |
|---|---|
| Balloon Brick | Provides lift, with adjustable lift power |
| Lift | Moves builds and players vertically |
| Proximity Brick | Reacts when something comes near |
The adjustable lift power on the Balloon Brick is the significant one. Instead of stacking or removing balloons until a build happens to hover at the right height, you can dial the strength in directly.
Balloon lift and wheel channel changes
Balloon physics have been reworked. Lift is now applied from the balloon itself rather than from its base, which changes how existing airships behave. If you have a flying build that was balanced under the old rules, expect it to tilt or drift differently and plan to reposition balloons accordingly.

Wheels also get more control. You can now assign wheels to different channels, which means separate groups of wheels can be driven or steered independently. That opens up builds like rear-steering vehicles or machines where one axle turns while another only provides drive.
Bug fixes included in the update
Alongside the event content, the update clears out a round of general fixes covering decor items, audio issues, and character movement problems. These are the quiet quality-of-life corrections that tend to go unnoticed until you stop hitting them.

If you only have time for one stretch of play during Night Shift, make it the front half. Drop 1 opens on September 3 and closes on September 30, and the second half is a shorter two-week window with two quest batches packed into it. Getting the early rewards banked leaves you far more room to finish the rest before Gotham packs up on October 15.
