Rebirth returns in NBA 2K27 MyCareer as a system that carries your hard-earned progress onto every new build you create. Instead of grinding a fresh player up from the bottom, a Rebirth-boosted save starts with a share of your badge tokens, your highest Max Overall already unlocked, and, on the lower tiers, faster badge progression.
Quick answer: Go to your MyCourt, activate the Rebirth holohelp next to the exit, and talk to Ronnie 2K. That completes the “Learn about Rebirth” objective, pays 10,000 VC, and unlocks the four tier objectives. Each tier then unlocks when a build reaches the required Overall.

How to start the Rebirth quest with Ronnie 2K
The Rebirth quest sits in the Unlocks tab of your MyCareer quest menu. Its description reads: “Ronnie 2K is stuck in a holodeck. Activate it to see what he has to say.” You do not need any Overall milestone to begin the quest itself, only to unlock the individual tiers afterward.

Note: The unlock process is the same as in the previous game. Only the rewards changed, since they now tie into the 2K27 Badge Token system.

There are four tiers, each marked by a phoenix emblem in the quest log. The first two come from leveling a single build, and the last two require multiple builds at 95+ Overall. Every tier unlocks your past Max Overall on new saves, and the badge token share climbs as you clear higher requirements.
| Tier | Requirement | New-save rewards |
|---|---|---|
| Tier I | Build at 90+ Overall | 25% of badge tokens, past Max OVR unlocked, 15% faster badge progression |
| Tier II | Build at 95+ Overall | 50% of badge tokens, past Max OVR unlocked, 15% faster badge progression |
| Tier III | 2 builds at 95+ Overall | 75% of badge tokens, past Max OVR unlocked, 15% faster badge progression |
| Tier IV | 3 builds at 95+ Overall | All badge tokens, past Max OVR unlocked |
Tier IV is the full package. Because a new save starts with every badge token already released, the 15% faster badge progression bonus is no longer needed and does not carry over. That boost applies to Tiers I through III only.

What a Rebirth build starts with
Rebirth applies to new saves only. Unlocking a tier does not change the build you used to earn it. Any build you create after unlocking a tier starts with that tier’s bonuses.
A Rebirth build does not climb from the bottom again. It begins at the highest Overall any of your builds has already reached, which is exactly what the “past Max OVR unlocked” line refers to on each tier.
Badges in 2K27 run on tokens, and Rebirth releases a portion of your default badge tokens the moment the new build is created. The core badges you rely on go straight on instead of being earned back, and that share scales with the tier, from a quarter at Tier I to the entire loadout at Tier IV. Pair this with Cap Breakers to build several maxed-out players without repeating the early grind.
How to confirm Rebirth is active
You know the quest started correctly when the “Learn about Rebirth” objective marks complete and the 10,000 VC lands in your account right after the Ronnie 2K cutscene. The remaining tier objectives then show in the quest log, each waiting on its Overall requirement.
A tier unlocks the moment a build hits its listed Overall, or once you have the required number of 95+ builds for Tiers III and IV. To see the bonuses in action, create a new save after unlocking a tier. It should spawn at your past Max Overall with the matching percentage of badge tokens already applied.
