Breathedge 2: How to Unlock Gotta Do It (+10 Electrical Protection)

Grab the floating sneakers near the Outskirts wreck and hang them on the power line for a permanent protection bonus.

Grab the floating sneakers near the Outskirts wreck and hang them on the power line for a permanent protection bonus.

“Gotta do it” is one of the small optional achievements sitting just outside the train station in Breathedge 2, and it pays better than most joke rewards. Finishing it grants a permanent +10 electrical protection bonus, which is worth having before you start pulling apart antennas and exposed wiring later in Chapter 1. The whole thing takes about a minute of flying.

Quick answer: Exit the train station, fly right along the train tracks to the power line with shoes already hanging on it, grab the yellow sneakers from the nearby wreck with the canister and loudspeaker, then fly back and release the sneakers onto that power line.

Gotta do it achievement details and reward

The achievement is entirely self-contained. There is no quest step to unlock first, no tool requirement beyond normal movement, and no story flag that has to be set before the sneakers appear.

DetailValue
Achievement nameGotta do it
RequirementHang the sneakers on the power lines where they belong
BonusSneakers on power lines and electrical protection +10
Item neededSneakers (yellow, floating loose near a wreck)
AreaOutskirts, just outside the train station

The bonus is permanent once applied, so there is no timer, no consumable to re-craft and nothing to re-equip.

Where to find the sneakers in the Outskirts

Leave the train station and jump off into open space. From the exit, turn right and follow the line of the train tracks outward.
Watch for the cable strung across your path with a pair of shoes already hanging on it. That cable is the drop-off point, so mark it mentally before you keep going.

From the cable, turn right toward the nearby space wreck. You are looking for the section with a canister and a loudspeaker attached to it.
Fly up to the loudspeaker. The yellow sneakers float loose right beside it. Approach until the Grab prompt appears and pick them up.

How to hang the sneakers on the power line

Carry the sneakers back to the power line you passed on the way out, the one with the other pair already hanging from it.
Line yourself up with the cable and release the sneakers onto it. The game only counts the interaction at the power line, so dropping them anywhere else does nothing.

The unlock is immediate. A NEW ACHIEVEMENT! banner appears on screen reading “Gotta do it,” with the line “Sneakers on power lines and electrical protection +10” underneath it.

Confirm the +10 electrical protection bonus

If you missed the banner, open the in-game menu and check the achievement entry. It lists the flavour text “Come on, you have to,” the requirement “Hang the sneakers on the power lines where they belong,” and the bonus line confirming electrical protection +10. Once that entry is marked as received, the bonus is already applied to your character.

If nothing triggered, check your inventory first. Still holding the sneakers means the release did not register on the cable, and you simply need to fly back and try the interaction again from a slightly different angle.

Because the sneakers sit so close to the starting station, this is worth doing on one of your first trips outside rather than saving for later. Exposed wiring becomes a genuine hazard once the antenna and communication work in the Outskirts picks up, and a permanent +10 electrical protection costs you nothing but a short detour along the train tracks.
