Genshin Impact Anniversary Rewards 2026: What Version 7.1 Confirms

The sixth anniversary reward pile, the standard five-star selector pool, and the fake free-limited-character claim, sorted out.

The sixth anniversary reward pile, the standard five-star selector pool, and the fake free-limited-character claim, sorted out.

Genshin Impact turns six on September 28, 2026, and the celebration sits inside Version 7.1. The reward package follows the same shape it has taken for years — a mail drop, a seven-day login card, and one free standard five-star — while a much louder rumor about a second, free limited five-star has already been shot down by the leaking community itself.

Quick answer: Expect 1,600 Primogems by in-game mail, 10 Intertwined Fates across a seven-day login, one free Wanderlust Invocation five-star of your choice, and a new wind glider. The extra “free older limited five-star plus signature weapon” selector circulating on social media is not real.

Sixth anniversary rewards in Version 7.1

The anniversary pays out through two channels: your mailbox and a login calendar. Everything below tracks the pattern HoYoverse has used since the fourth and fifth anniversaries, with the final wording locked in by the 7.1 Special Program.

The fifth anniversary used the same skeleton. Its mail pile carried 1,600 Primogems, a Serenitea Pot furnishing, a companion gadget, one Sanctifying Elixir and Fragile Resin, while the login card handed over 10 Fates, 8 Hero’s Wit, 80,000 Mora and a commemorative feather. The Fates were split unevenly across the week — one on day 1, two on day 3, two on day 5, and the remaining five on day 7 — so skipping the final login costs you half the pull currency.

Note: the Initial Top-Up Bonus reset returns the double bonus on every Genesis Crystal tier (60, 300, 980, 1,980, 3,280 and 6,480). Unused doubles from last year do not stack, so anything still sitting on your account is worth spending before 7.1 maintenance if that tier was already on your list.

Free standard five-star selector: The full pool

Every anniversary since Version 5.0 has included a free pick from the Wanderlust Invocation roster, and the sixth year continues it. You choose one character from Diluc, Jean, Mona, Keqing, Qiqi, Tighnari, Dehya and Mizuki, plus any standard unit added later. The pick is final once confirmed.

For a young account, Tighnari works as a genuine carry, Jean pairs well with Furina, and Mona covers burst windows. If you already hold all of those, Mizuki is the Stellar-Swirl option, or you can take a duplicate for a Masterless Stella Fortuna and push a constellation.

The free limited five-star and signature weapon claim is fake

A post claiming HoYoverse would hand out a second selector — an older limited five-star along with that character’s signature weapon — spread widely ahead of the anniversary. The version that circulated came with detailed rules: the unit had to be missing from your account, constellations were off the table, and Venti, Zhongli, Raiden Shogun and Furina were excluded as Archons.

None of it holds up. HXG’s Channel, one of the accounts the claim was attributed to, publicly stated the post is fake, and nothing about a second selector has appeared on any official channel. Plan your Primogems as if it does not exist.

Other unconfirmed leaks in circulation

Anniversary season also pulled a separate set of claims into the conversation, and they are worth keeping in the “unconfirmed” column. Leaked reports describe a Zhongli kit rework in Version 7.4 that would shift him toward a main DPS role while keeping his shield.

The same reports mention a new signature weapon built for damage and a dedicated artifact set to go with it, plus a rerun in the first half of 7.4 alongside a Chronicled Wish banner during Lantern Rite. None of that affects what you receive in September, and none of it is official.

Version 7.1 schedule and banner lineup

DateWhat happens
September 11, 20267.1 Special Program, three livestream codes, official reward wording
September 23, 2026Version 7.1 goes live, running roughly 42 days
September 28, 2026Sixth anniversary; mail and login rewards open around this date
Around October 14, 2026Phase 2 banner swap

The banner lineup leans on two new five-stars. Vesna is an Anemo sword main DPS built around the Stellar Swirl reaction, and Vodyanitsa is a Hydro catalyst support. Cryo units Skirk and Escoffier are the named reruns, with Zibai and Linnea also floated by leakers. Banner order can still flip before the stream, so treat phase placement as loose.

How many wishes the anniversary window gives

The mail Primogems and login Fates together come out to roughly 20 Event Wishes before you touch any actual content. Add the patch’s events, Spiral Abyss, exploration and quest rewards, and a free-to-play account clearing the full queue lands near 91 limited wishes across Version 7.1, or about 114 with a Blessing of the Welkin Moon running.

That is planning currency, not a guarantee. Soft pity starts around pull 74, and a lost 50/50 followed by a second hard pity can run to 180 pulls. Twenty free wishes close a gap on a saved account; they will not fund a cold one.

How to claim the anniversary rewards

Finish Prologue: Act I, The Outlander Who Caught the Wind. This unlocks the Wish system and the Invite Character button that the selector runs through. Without it, the event card will not accept a pick.
After the Version 7.1 maintenance ends, open the Events menu and find the anniversary event card. Tap Invite Character, choose one Wanderlust Invocation unit, and confirm. The character appears in your roster immediately, and the choice cannot be changed afterwards.
Log in on each day of the seven-day card. Day 7 alone holds five of the ten Intertwined Fates, so a missed final day leaves that slot empty rather than deferring it.
Open your mailbox after September 28 and claim the 1,600 Primogems along with the gadget and material bundle. Mail items expire 30 days after they arrive, and the counter does not pause.
Redeem the three Special Program codes on the day of the stream. They need Adventure Rank 10 and expire in roughly 24 hours, so grab them promptly on the official redemption page.

Codes redeemed on the web page deliver through in-game mail, not straight into your wallet, so log back in and check the mailbox to confirm they went through. If the in-game redemption box rejects a string, the browser page is the reliable fallback.

The safest read on the sixth anniversary is the boring one. A 20-wish mail-and-login package, one free standard five-star, a glider, and the Genesis Crystal tier reset are what the pattern supports, and the September 11 Special Program is where those numbers get official wording. Anything beyond that, including a second character selector, is not something to budget around.
