Weapons in Grand Blue come from three places, and only three: a shop counter, a mob or boss drop table, or a treasure chest dug up with a map. There is no crafting shortcut that skips those routes, and the rarest blades in the game — the ones players call secret weapons — sit behind the chest route entirely. Below is where each confirmed weapon lives, what it costs, and what the drop rate actually is.
Quick answer: Buy the Cutlass in Anchor Town for 200 Gold, buy the Katana (500 Gold) and Willow Blade (10,000 Gold) in Clown Town, farm Maple Village mobs for the Battle Axe, Slingshot and Cat Claws, and open Treasure Chests with Treasure Maps for the two secret weapons, Sturdy Stick and Gilded Sabre.

The Cutlass is the first weapon most players will hold. It sells for 200 Gold at the Anchor Town shop, and Corrupt-marines around the starting island drop it at a 10 percent rate, so if you are short on Gold you can farm one instead of buying it.

Sail to Clown Town and the weapon shop beside the mayor stocks two upgrades. The Katana costs 500 Gold and is a straightforward step up from the Cutlass. The Willow Blade is the expensive one at 10,000 Gold, so plan on questing across two islands before you can afford it outright.

Boss and mob drops: Last Laugh, Battle Axe, Slingshot, Cat Claws
Last Laugh is the mid-to-late game sword and it drops from Bazaji in Clown Town at 5 percent, with a Level 60 requirement to wield it. Smugglers also deal in it, so check them if the boss farm is not cooperating.
Maple Village is where the rest of the roster lives. Black Noir Pirates drop the Battle Axe at 10 percent, and it comes with Cleaving Strike, Axe Spin, and a leap attack. Captain Esopo drops the Slingshot at the same 10 percent rate. Grab drops Cat Claws at 5 percent, gated behind Level 90.
Tip: drop rates are per kill, not per session. A 5 percent rate means roughly one in twenty kills on average, and streaks of nothing are normal — keep the mob loop tight rather than resetting servers.
Captain’s Claws: how to trigger the Kuro Raid
Captain’s Claws only comes out of the Kuro Raid in Maple Village, and the raid does not appear on its own. You have to start it.

Offhand weapons and where they come from
Offhands sit in a separate slot from your main weapon and are tracked under Sidearms in the Logbook. The Hypnotist Chakram is the rare one, dropping from Hypnotist Mango in Maple Village at just 1 percent — the lowest confirmed rate in the game. Clown Knives, Small Hammer, and Daddy’s Gift round out the secondary options.

Secret weapons: Sturdy Stick and Gilded Sabre from Treasure Chests
Two weapons cannot be bought and do not appear on any mob drop table. The Sturdy Stick and the Gilded Sabre come only from Treasure Chests, which you locate using Treasure Maps. Both carry a base damage value of 4.4, and the Gilded Sabre requires Level 90.
Treasure Maps also feed the Celestial Coin economy, so the same activity that hunts these two weapons pays out currency you can spend elsewhere. There is no shop fallback here — if you want either weapon, digging is the route.
Weapon leveling and skill upgrades
Weapons level through use. Keep swinging the same one and it unlocks additional skills at weapon levels 2 and 3, which is why swapping constantly slows you down. Individual skills upgrade through quests from weapon Teachers, and each upgrade lets you pick one of three buffs.
| Upgrade buff | Effect |
|---|---|
| Cooldown Reduction | Shortens the wait between uses |
| Damage Increase | Raises the skill’s damage |
| Increased Speed | Makes the attack animation faster |
Some skills are locked to a weapon class. Axe Spin, for example, only functions with axe weapons, so a scroll you pick up is useless until the matching weapon is in your hand. Skill scrolls also drop from NPC kills alongside what trainers teach.
Working Grand Blue codes
Codes do not hand out weapons. They hand out Fruit Chests, Trait Rerolls, Race Rerolls, and Celestial Coins, which matter because Celestial Coins and a decent build make the weapon farms far quicker. Redeem them all in one pass at the start of a session.
| Code | Reward |
|---|---|
| FruitBasket | Fruit Chest, Trait and Race Rerolls |
| NewYouNewCrew | Fruit Chest, Trait and Race Rerolls |
| HappySunday | Fruit Chest, Trait and Race Rerolls |
| CelestialBlessing | Freebies |
| 10KCCU | Celestial Coins |
| WorldBossBroke | Freebies |
| SorryForBreakingGame | 20 Trait Rerolls, 10 Race Rerolls |
| TwitterGoalReached | 1 Fruit Chest, 20 Trait Rerolls, 5 Race Rerolls |
| Release! | 5 Race Resets, 10 Trait Rerolls |
Grand Blue is still in Early Access, so shop prices and drop tables can shift with updates. The Logbook is the reliable check — its Sidearms and Mobs chapters record what you have actually seen, and anything not listed there has not dropped for you yet.
