Desert Island hides three secrets in Update 30, and each one you finish adds a star to the island on the world map. Two of them start with the same NPC, one is buried under the sand outside the pyramid, and none of them show up on the normal quest board. Once all three stars are in, the island flips to a completed state and the progress counts toward the Middle Town teleporter.

Quick answer: Rescue Hasan from the skeletons inside the pyramid, collect 10 Cactus Petals for the Prickly Harvest quest, and beat the sand off the ring of stone pillars near the pyramid until they glow blue. Report each one to the Desert Merchant to bank the star.

Desert Island secrets: What each star requires

Two NPCs matter here. The Desert Merchant stands in the village area and takes every turn-in, while the Desert Adventurer near the docks points you toward the pillars. Everything else happens within a short run of the pyramid.

Rescue Hasan inside the pyramid

Run to the pyramid and look along the corner facing the village. There is a small patch of darker, lower ground tucked between cacti and a fence, often with a treasure chest sitting on top of it.

Grab the chest if it is there, then step onto the patch. You drop through into a tunnel that leads under the sand and up into the pyramid’s inner chamber.

Follow the passage until the cutscene plays and Hasan calls for help. Speak to him and agree to step in.

Wipe out every Desert Skeleton in the room. They sit around level 50, so they go down fast for anyone who has already moved past the early First Sea grind.

Talk to Hasan again once the room is clear, head back up to the surface, and speak to the Desert Merchant to claim the first star and the reward.

Prickly Harvest: Collect 10 Cactus Petals

Return to the Desert Merchant after Hasan is safe and pick the Prickly Harvest dialogue option. He asks for a batch of cactus flowers.

Spread out across the island and hit the green cacti with M1 attacks or a sword. Each cactus you break drops a single Cactus Petal, so you need 10 separate plants.

Take all 10 petals back to the Desert Merchant. Turning them in closes the quest, pays out levels, and locks in the second star.

Note: Prickly Harvest is tied to the blooming season, so the dialogue option will not always be sitting there waiting. If it is missing, run one of the other two secrets and check back with the merchant later.

Clear the sand off the stone pillars

Find the Desert Adventurer near the docks and talk to him to open the final objective.

Head to the ring of stone pillars sitting near the pyramid, close to the spot where you dropped in for Hasan. They look like plain sand-covered blocks at first glance.

Beat the sand off each stone with melee attacks or skills. A stone is finished when it turns dark and blue ancient carvings light up on its surface, so keep hitting anything still buried.

Once every pillar in the circle is glowing, a cutscene plays and a plate rises out of the ground to reveal the carvings. Go back to the Desert Merchant to report what you found and take the third star.

How to confirm Desert Island is fully cleared

The moment the third turn-in lands, a “DESERT COMPLETED” banner appears on screen and Desert Island shows three filled stars on the map. That is the only confirmation you need. Open the map and check the island icon if you missed the banner mid-fight.

Stars are the currency here. Every secret across the 16 First Sea islands is worth one, and 40 stars unlocks the teleporter in Middletown. The rewards along the way include secret levels that push you past the normal cap, plus money, EXP, gems, and stat points.

Why a Desert Island secret will not trigger

The pyramid entrance is easy to miss because a treasure chest can be parked on top of it. Clear the chest, then look for the darker dirt between the cactus and the fence.
Prickly Harvest only appears in the Desert Merchant’s dialogue during the blooming season. No option means the window is closed, not that the quest is broken.
A pillar that still has sand on it blocks the cutscene. Circle the whole ring and confirm every stone has turned dark with blue carvings.
Finishing the objective is not the same as claiming it. Each secret only becomes a star after you talk to the quest NPC in the village.

All three run in a single loop around the pyramid, so the whole island takes only a few minutes once you know where the drop point and the stone circle are. Get them done early, because the star count is what eventually opens the teleporter and saves you the boat trips.
