Mortal Shell 2: Infused Stone Location and How to Get It

The Collector sells this Black Needle Tarstone for 1,500 coins, but he only appears at the Abandoned Outpost during Night.

The Infused Stone is one of the few Ability Tarstones in Mortal Shell 2 that turns your primary weapon into a thrown attack, and it is not sitting in a chest waiting to be looted. It is a purchase, from a merchant who only exists under specific conditions, in a corner of the map you have to walk to.

Quick answer: Trigger Night mode, then fast travel to the Outskirts of Mammon beacon and run southwest through the Deserted Slums to the Abandoned Outpost beacon. The Collector stands nearby and sells the Infused Stone for 1,500 coins.

Infused Stone effects and weapon compatibility

The Infused Stone is an Ability Tarstone, which means it costs Resolve to fire off rather than granting a passive buff. Activating it spends 70 Resolve and hurls your weapon forward, skewering everything in its path before it circles back to your hand.

It only works with the Black Needle. No other primary weapon can slot it, so if you are not running the spear, this stone does nothing for you.

UpgradeThe thrown weapon strikes up to 4 targets
UpgradeEach strike inflicts 150% damage

Perforation is the reason this stone scales so well on a spear. Enemies carrying Perforation stacks take bonus damage from Stab attacks, so a fully upgraded throw softens a whole line of foes right before you close in and start poking.

Night mode is required before The Collector appears

The Collector is a Night-only merchant. Walk to the Abandoned Outpost during the day and you will find an empty spot where he should be standing. Nothing about the route changes, only whether he is there.

Access to Night mode comes from the Gloombound Flame, picked up in the Great Arbiter of Flesh boss area. Until you have it, the option to shift the world into Night is not available to you at all.

Head to the NPC positioned up on the roof and interact with them. This is the only place the world-state swap can be triggered.

Choose Call Forth the Night from the dialogue options. The sky darkens and the world shifts over immediately once you confirm.

Route to the Abandoned Outpost beacon

With Night active, the trip is short. You are travelling from one beacon to another with a stretch of hostile ruins in between, and none of it needs to be cleared.

Open the map and fast travel to the Outskirts of Mammon beacon. That is your closest anchor point to the merchant.
Run out of the beacon area and follow the path through the ruined ground toward the Deserted Slums. Enemies patrol this stretch, but you can sprint past most of them if you are only here for the stone.

Push through the Slums to the Abandoned Outpost beacon and light it. The Collector is standing close by, and you can now warp straight here on future Night runs.

Buying the Infused Stone from The Collector for 1,500 coins

Talk to The Collector and pick the Trade option to open his shop. His stock is worth a look beyond the one stone you came for — the Fulminant Stone, Infested Stone, and Weeping Stone all sit in the same list.

The Infused Stone costs 1,500 coins. Bring the money with you, because there is no discount and no alternative source for this stone.

You will know the purchase landed when the Infused Stone shows up in your Tarstones menu at Level 1 with its Resolve cost listed. Slot it into the Ability slot on the Black Needle, and the throw becomes usable in combat right away.

Upgrading the Infused Stone at the Tarforge

At Level 1 the throw only hits a couple of enemies for standard damage. The multi-target and damage bonuses come from levelling it, and that requires unlocking the Tarforge’s full upgrade options first.

Grab the Etching Needle from the bone chest just before the Magdalena, the Lady of the Woods fight. Once you spot Ruk past the bridge, drop through the opening and turn right before the tunnel to find the small alcove holding it.
Hand the Etching Needle to Franz at the Tarforge in Marrow Keep. This expands what he can do with your stones.
Equip the Infused Stone and go kill things. Tarstones gain experience only while equipped, so leave it slotted during normal play.
Return to Franz once the stone’s XP bar is full and pay the coin cost to push it to the next level.

Note: if the upgrade option is greyed out at the Tarforge, the cause is almost always one of two things — the XP bar is not full yet, or you never handed over the Etching Needle.

Fully levelled, the Infused Stone is one of the cleanest crowd tools a Black Needle build has. A single 70 Resolve throw stacks Perforation on up to four enemies at 150% damage each, and every follow-up Stab attack you land afterwards hits harder for it.
