Echoes of Silenced Bells opens with a walk, not a fight. Anca leaves Laslea Glen ahead of Coen and waits at a ruined inn near St. Tyna’s convent, and the quest will not move until you physically arrive there. The trip is short, there is nothing hostile on the road, and there is one shrine worth grabbing on the way.
Quick answer: From St. Tyna’s Grove, follow the dirt trail due south through the woods and marshland until you reach the wooden gates of the ruined inn. Walking through the gates triggers the cutscene with Anca automatically and completes the objective.
Where the old inn is in The Blood of Dawnwalker
The meeting spot is the Crossroads Inn, a half-collapsed building southeast of Laslea Glen in the swamplands, a short distance from St. Tyna’s convent itself. If you are coming from St. Tyna’s Grove, the marker sits almost straight south of you, so the run is mostly a matter of holding a direction and staying on the trail.
The inn has its own shrine, but it starts out damaged. Repairing it by tracking down its heart is worth the detour, since Anca’s questline keeps sending you back to this building later on.

Anca’s dialogue options at the inn
Anca greets Coen with “Coen! Good, I was getting worried,” then asks how he is holding up. You get three replies.
- Not that great.
- I’m fine.
- It doesn’t matter.
Picking “I’m fine.” has Coen answer that he is mostly holding together and staying focused on the task in front of him. From there the conversation moves to Anca’s own history with St. Tyna’s, why she was thrown out of the convent, and the forbidden books she believes hold knowledge that can be used against the vrakhiri. The fog that has swallowed the area comes up here too.
How to confirm the objective is complete
When the cutscene ends, the tracker swaps “Meet with Anca at the old inn” for “Make your way through the fog,” and Anca starts moving as a follow target. That change in the quest log is the only confirmation you need.
If the objective is not in your journal at all, the prologue quest “Smoke and Ashes” has not been finished yet. Echoes of Silenced Bells only appears once that wraps up and Anca tells Coen to meet her at the inn.
From there the quest picks up pace quickly. Following Anca into the fog takes you past abandoned pilgrim carts, a dead Brencis soldier by a campfire, and a wounded man dragging himself down the road, and opening the convent gates spends your first time segment. Everything after that, including the ruined convent and its undead nuns, is a much longer detour than the walk that got you here.
