Valheim Codes (September 2026)

Enable Valheim's full console command list to spawn gear, control weather, and adjust difficulty, updated for the 1.0 patch.

Enable Valheim’s full console command list to spawn gear, control weather, and adjust difficulty, updated for the 1.0 patch.

Valheim runs entirely on a built-in developer console rather than redeemable promo codes. Typing the right command lets you spawn gear, become invincible, skip the grind for materials, or jump straight to a boss fight without hunting for a portal.

Valheim console commands

Every command below works once cheats are turned on in your world. Enter each one exactly as written into the console, followed by any variables the command needs.

  • devcommands — Turns on every cheat command in this list; type it again to turn cheats back off
  • god — Makes your character immune to damage
  • ghost — Stops nearby creatures from noticing or attacking you
  • fly — Toggles free flight, controlled with the spacebar and Ctrl keys
  • debugmode — Enables no-cost building alongside flight, effectively a creative mode
  • nocost — Removes resource costs when placing builds
  • heal — Restores your health and stamina to full instantly
  • puke — Empties your stomach of all eaten food
  • resetcharacter — Wipes your character’s skills and progress back to default
  • raiseskill [skill] [amount] — Raises the named skill to the level you specify, e.g. raiseskill running 100
  • resetskill [skill] — Resets one named skill back to zero
  • killall — Kills every nearby creature, friendly or hostile
  • killenemies — Kills only nearby hostile creatures
  • tame — Instantly tames any tameable creature nearby
  • exploremap — Reveals the entire map as if you had explored it
  • goto [x,z] — Teleports you to the coordinates you enter
  • pos — Prints your character’s current coordinates in the console
  • skiptime [seconds] — Fast-forwards in-game time by the number of seconds you set
  • tod [value] — Sets the time of day using a value between 0 and 1, or -1 to reset
  • env [weather] — Overrides the current weather with the condition you name
  • event [name] — Starts a named story event, such as a boss army or raid
  • spawn [item] [amount] [level] — Spawns the named item, creature, or object at your location
  • itemset [name] — Spawns a full premade gear set for a given biome, add keep to avoid dropping your current items
  • setpower [name] — Sets your active guardian power (e.g. GP_Eikthyr) and resets its cooldown
  • players [number] — Scales world difficulty as though more players were active, 0 resets it
  • Wood — Wood, the base building resource
  • Stone — Stone for early building and crafting
  • Bronze — Bronze bars for tier-two gear
  • Iron — Iron bars for tier-three gear
  • Coins — Gold coins for trading with Haldor
  • Hammer — Hammer, the main building tool
  • Hoe — Hoe for terrain leveling
  • Cultivator — Cultivator for planting crops
  • Torch — Torch for light and heat
  • Chest — Chest for storage
  • SwordIron — Iron sword
  • Bow — Crude bow
  • BeltStrength — Megingjord, boosts carry weight
  • Wishbone — Wishbone, points toward buried treasure

Two commands are worth extra caution before use. resetcharacter permanently erases your character’s skills and progress, and forcedelete [radius] [name] deletes every object within a set radius, so back up your save file first.

  • cinematic
  • cinematicsleep
  • inventorysize
  • inventoryclean

How to enable console commands in Valheim

On PC (Steam)

Open your Steam library, right-click Valheim, and select Properties.
In the General tab, type -console into the Launch Options box.
Launch Valheim and press F5 during a game session to open the console window.
Type devcommands into the console and press Enter. The console will confirm cheats are active, and you can now enter any command from the list above. Typing devcommands again turns cheats back off.

On Xbox

Launch Valheim and press RB + LB + RT + LT + Menu at the same time to open the console.
Press A to bring up the on-screen keyboard, then type devcommands and confirm.
With cheats enabled, enter any command from the console list the same way you would on PC.

Pair any of these item names with the spawn command to place them directly into your world, for example spawn Silver 20.

HaldorSummons the Haldor merchant (note: he spawns slightly off the ground and cannot be removed afterward)

Add a letter after the quantity and level to change how a spawned item behaves: p automatically picks it up, e tries to equip or use it, and i only spawns it if you don’t already have one in your inventory.

Console commands only apply to the world you enter them in and generally don’t carry over to servers you don’t host, so treat them as a single-player tool for testing builds, skipping grind, or setting up screenshots.
