Mario Kart World now has a stash of Super Mario Kart tracks buried inside its map, and they arrived quietly with the free ver. 1.8.0 update. Ten SNES-era courses are back, tucked underneath modern tracks you already race on, and you don’t have to unlock anything to reach them.
Quick answer: Install version 1.8.0, open the map, and pick the SNES track listed beneath Mario Circuit, Boo Cinema, Choco Mountain, Sky-High Sundae, or Koopa Troopa Beach.

Every SNES course and where to find it on the map
All 10 tracks come from the original Super Mario Kart. They don’t get their own separate icons on the world map. Instead, each one sits under an existing course, so you open that course’s icon and then choose the SNES track listed below it.
| SNES course | Map icon to open |
|---|---|
| Mario Circuit 1 | Mario Circuit |
| Mario Circuit 2 | Mario Circuit |
| Mario Circuit 3 | Mario Circuit |
| Ghost Valley 1 | Boo Cinema |
| Ghost Valley 2 | Boo Cinema |
| Ghost Valley 3 | Boo Cinema |
| Choco Island 1 | Choco Mountain |
| Choco Island 2 | Choco Mountain |
| Vanilla Lake 1 | Sky-High Sundae |
| Koopa Beach 1 | Koopa Troopa Beach |
Three of the icons (Mario Circuit, Boo Cinema, and Choco Mountain) hold multiple SNES tracks, while Sky-High Sundae and Koopa Troopa Beach each hide a single one. Open the icon on the map, and the retro tracks appear as options underneath the main course.

Which modes let you race the classic courses
You can take these tracks into VS Race, Time Trials, and races in Online Play and Wireless Play. In each case, the map is where you make the selection, so pull it up and drill into the correct icon to reach the SNES layout beneath it.
If you don’t see the tracks at all, the update hasn’t applied yet. Confirm the game is on version 1.8.0, then reopen the map and check under the five icons above.

What changes on the retro tracks
The biggest on-track difference is items. Instead of the usual floating Item Boxes, these courses use Item Panels laid out on the ground. Drive over a panel to pick up your item, the same way the original game handled it.
Everything else about how you drive carries over from the modern game, so you’re bringing current speeds, karts, and characters onto these older layouts.
The same 1.8.0 update also added two new Knockout Tour rallies alongside these courses, so there’s more to work through once you’ve cleared the SNES tracks.
