Roblox has been quietly turning back the clock. The mobile icon swapped to its old look, classic branding crept back onto the platform, and a cryptic post full of scrambled character pairs started circulating with the number 17 buried inside it. All of it points at a sequel to The Classic, the retro event that ran in May 2024, and the way it plays should feel familiar to anyone who ground through the first one.

Quick answer: Open the official event hub from the Roblox Events tab, complete quests inside the hub and inside participating experiences to earn Tokens, grab the hidden Tix scattered across each map, then spend both at the Event Tracker before the event window closes.

The Classic 2 release date: What is actually known

Roblox has not published an official start date or start time for a second Classic event. What exists is a teaser post broken into two-character fragments such as “- 17 GH” and “T5 17 20”, which the community has read as September 17th, 2026. Treat that as a strong hint, not a schedule.

Alongside the teaser, a set of leaked test places surfaced referencing early Roblox maps, and a batch of developer products briefly went on sale inside the Sword of the Heights experience. Those products were named after classic gears, which is about as on-theme as a leak gets.

How to join the official event hub (and avoid copycats)

Update the Roblox app before the event goes live. Event hubs frequently ship with new assets and UI, and an outdated client is the most common reason a portal refuses to load.

Reach the hub through Roblox’s own navigation rather than the search bar. Open the More menu, go to the Events tab, and launch the event from there or from the official event page. Search results fill up with copycat experiences using the same thumbnail and name, and those give you nothing.

Once you spawn in, walk the hub before touching anything else. The 2024 layout was a floating classic island with a starting house, a leaderboard, an Event Tracker, obby courses, a kart track, and a row of portals leading to every participating experience.

Tokens vs Tix: What each currency is for

The two event currencies look similar in the top bar and behave nothing alike. Tokens come from finishing objectives. Tix come from looking around. Mixing them up is the fastest way to waste an evening.

In 2024, Tix bought hub toys from the Event Tracker, including the Drink Coin at 4 Tix, a Rocket Launcher at 6, the Superball at 12, a Timebomb at 20, and Mom’s Dog at 32. Tokens bought the avatar items, starting with the Ancient Deity Shawl at 5 Tokens and climbing to Kleos Erebus at 15.

Some hub quests also require items you buy with Tix first, which makes early Tix collection worth more than it looks. Top Dodgeballer, for example, could not be started without spending 12 Tix on the Superball.

Hub quests: The cheapest currency in the event

The hub is not just a lobby. It runs its own quest list, opened with the Quests button on the left side of the screen, and most entries take a couple of minutes. These are the ones to clear first, because they need no travel and no unfamiliar game systems.

The fastest route through the participating games

Open the reward page before you play anything and write down the exact Token and Tix totals you need. Most players do not need every collectible in the event, only enough for the items they actually want, and knowing the number stops you from over-grinding.

Clear the short hub quests next. The obbies, the kart laps, the cart ride, and the portal checkpoints are quick and stack up fast without leaving the lobby.

Enter portals for games you already play. Event challenges assume you know the core loop, and learning BedWars or a tower defense title from scratch under a five-day timer is where most people lose hours.

Hunt Tix while you complete the main objective, not afterwards. Tix sit along the routes you already run, so a single pass through the map usually covers both the challenge and most of the collectibles.

Skip anything broken or slow and come back later. A bugged challenge on day one is often patched by day two, and there is no bonus for finishing games in order.

Return to the hub and claim rewards the moment you can afford them. Do not bank a large balance waiting for the top-tier item if the ones below it are already unlocked.

The 2024 event ran with 15 participating experiences, among them Adopt Me, Arsenal, BedWars, Bee Swarm Simulator, Blade Ball, Clip It, Dragon Adventures, Dress To Impress, Driving Empire, A Dusty Trip, Gunfight Arena, Livetopia, Restaurant Tycoon 2, Toilet Tower Defense, and Tower Defense Simulator. A leaked lineup of 30 titles for a sequel has circulated with names like Piggy, Doors, Fisch, and Blox Fruits attached, but that list has no official backing and portals can change right up to launch.

How to confirm a reward actually registered

Progress is visible in two places. The Token and Tix counters in the hub UI increase immediately, and the entry in the quest menu flips from incomplete to complete. If a challenge finishes but neither updates, rejoin the hub before repeating the objective, since a stale server session is usually the culprit rather than a missed step.

For avatar items, the real confirmation is your inventory. Claim the item, then check that it appears there rather than assuming the purchase screen was enough. Limited-time rewards are the ones most affected by server issues and mid-event changes, so an unclaimed balance is a risk and a claimed item is not.

Common reasons progress does not register

You joined a copycat experience with a cloned name and thumbnail instead of the official hub.
The Roblox app is out of date, so event assets and portals fail to load.
You attempted to enter a portal before the event window opened, which returns a teleport restriction error.
A quest requires an item you have not bought yet, such as the Superball or Rocket Launcher from the Event Tracker.

Nothing outside Roblox itself hands out event currency. Reward pages that ask for a login, generator sites, and links promising early Tokens are phishing attempts, and there is no legitimate version of them.

The first Classic ran from May 23 to May 28, 2024, a five-day window that caught plenty of players out. If a sequel keeps that shape, the useful preparation happens before launch. Update the app, decide which participating games you already know well, and be ready to spend your first session on hub quests rather than wandering through portals for experiences you have never played.
