Slayer 2: How to Become a Demon (Full Guide)

Turning into a demon in Slayer 2 is not a menu choice or a purchase. It is a reputation mechanic. The game tracks how much of a threat you are to the Demon Slayer Corps, and once that number drops far enough into the negative, Muzan contacts you directly. Everything after that is a fixed sequence of quests with no random chance attached.

Quick answer: Lower your reputation to about -500 by killing Kanoe Demon Slayers in the snow zone or civilians, meet Muzan at Mistfall Harbor at night to get the Biwa Bell, then complete both of his quests (deliver Dr. Higoshima and gather 9 Spider Lilies) and drink the Muzan’s Blood reward.

Reputation requirement: How to reach -500

Reputation is the only gate on the entire questline. You need it at roughly -500 before Muzan will acknowledge you, and there are two reliable ways to push it down. Neither is faster in a dramatic way, so pick whichever fits where you already are on the map.

You can mix both freely. There is no penalty for switching between Slayers and civilians, and the counter only moves in one direction as long as you keep attacking.

Once you hit the threshold, a system message appears on screen reading “Find me at nightfall.” That prompt is your confirmation that the reputation requirement is done. If you have not seen it, you are not at -500 yet, no matter how many kills you think you have racked up.

Where to find Muzan and get the Biwa Bell

Muzan only spawns at night, and only at one place. The message is literal about the timing, so if it is daytime in your server, either wait it out or hop servers until night comes around.

Head north from the bear area toward Mistfall Harbor. This is the only location where Muzan appears after the reputation prompt fires.

Talk to Muzan once night has fallen. His dialogue offers you a choice between “Take the bell” and “Not yet.” Choosing to take the bell accepts his offer.

Equip the Biwa Bell from your inventory and use it. It teleports you straight to Muzan’s Lair, which is where both of his quests are handed out. The bell stays with you, so it doubles as a fast travel item for the rest of the questline.

Muzan’s two quests: Dr. Higoshima and 9 Spider Lilies

Muzan gives you two tasks, and both have to be finished before he hands over anything. The first is the more dangerous of the pair because the game actively works against you while you are carrying your target.

Track down Dr. Higoshima, capture him, and carry him back to Muzan. Follow the quest waypoint rather than guessing the route, since the delivery point is fixed.

Keep moving while you are holding him. Slayers spawn continuously and attack for as long as the doctor is in your hands, so stopping to fight every group is the main way this quest fails. Outrunning them is usually better than clearing them.

Collect 9 Spider Lilies for the second quest. They spawn across the map, but the quickest method is to check the Water Trainee area, grab whatever is there, and then server hop and check again. Repeating that loop is far faster than walking the whole map hunting for individual spawns.

Hand both quests in and Muzan rewards you with Muzan’s Blood.

Drinking Muzan’s Blood and confirming the transformation

Muzan’s Blood sits in your inventory as a normal item, and nothing happens until you use it. Drink it and the transformation sequence plays out, after which you are a demon permanently.

You will know it worked from two things. A notification reads “Title unlocked: Demon,” and your reputation resets rather than staying at -500. From that point, the trainee-elimination quests become available back at Muzan’s Lair, including contracts to eliminate the Insect, Serpent, Thunder, and Flame Trainees.

Evil Arts: Rolling, training, and the skill tree

Becoming a demon does not hand you an ability. Evil Arts are rolled separately at Muzan’s Lair using spins, so your kit depends on what you land.

If you roll Blood Manipulation, you need the Sickles before you can progress. They drop from the boss Hoyuzo, found in the cave underneath the bear area. Clear him, pick up the weapon, and the Art becomes available to train.

Every Evil Art is locked behind its own training questline. The format is consistent across them, mixing breathing minigames, target-hitting challenges, and combat objectives. Finish the full set and the Art unlocks for use.

After that, progression moves into the skill tree, where you spend points on individual moves. Arrow, for example, branches into abilities such as Arrow Flight, Arrow Eruption, and Triclaw Reversal, each unlocked one at a time rather than granted as a bundle.

Why Muzan is not appearing

There are only a handful of reasons the encounter fails to trigger, and they are all easy to check.

Your reputation has not reached -500 yet. Without the “Find me at nightfall” message, Muzan will not spawn at all.
It is daytime in your server. He only appears during night hours.
You are at the wrong location. Mistfall Harbor, north of the bear area, is the only spawn point.
You picked “Not yet” in his dialogue, which declines the offer and skips the Biwa Bell.

The whole run is deterministic once you know the order, and the only real time sink is the Spider Lily hunt. Get the reputation down, take the bell, and the rest is a matter of surviving one escort and doing a lot of server hopping.
