Roblox Kaizen: How to Unlock Black Flash V2 as Yuji Itadori

Every requirement, cost, and trial condition for turning the base Black Flash Style into Black Flash II.

Every requirement, cost, and trial condition for turning the base Black Flash Style into Black Flash II.

Black Flash II is the upgraded version of Kaizen’s Black Flash fighting style, and it sits behind a second unlock that most players do not see until long after they buy the base style. You cannot roll it, trade for it, or skip to it. It is gated behind a mastery threshold, a proof-of-work counter, a cash fee, and a boss that has to be beaten with Black Flash hits specifically.

Quick answer: Equip Black Flash Style, raise it to 500 Black Flash Mastery, land 250 Black Flashes, then pay 100,000 Yen to the Black Flash Master under the bridge in Shibuya and defeat the S Grade Sorcerer to unlock Black Flash II.

The trial NPC will not talk business until all three conditions are met at once. Mastery and Black Flash count are tracked separately, and both are displayed on the trial prompt as progress counters.

Get the base Black Flash Style first

There is no shortcut around the base style. It comes from a hooded Itadori NPC standing in a Shibuya alleyway near graffiti, and it costs both currency and a boss drop.

Wait for the [WORLD BOSS SPAWNED] – Itadori notification in Shibuya, then head to the circular arena on the west side of the district. The bridge entrance on that side leads straight into the arena.
Kill the Itadori world boss until you have 9 Black Flash Essence. Essence drops at roughly a 35 percent rate, and the boss also has a 5 percent chance to drop Demon Arms. The boss health does not reset if you die and return, so a wipe costs you time rather than progress.
Run down the Shibuya alleyway to the hooded Itadori NPC and open his crafting menu. With 9/9 Black Flash Essence and 400,000 Yen, the purchase confirms and the game returns a NEW! Fighting Style message for Black Flash Style.

Raise your Black Flash chance before the grind

Landing 250 Black Flashes is the slowest part of the unlock, because Black Flash triggers as a chance proc on your attacks rather than on a button. Two things move that number, and both are worth setting up before you start farming.

SourceBonus
Itadori clan (Legendary, from Clan Spins)+10% Melee, +5% Cursed Energy, +10% Max Cursed Energy, +10% Black Flash Chance
Demon Arms (Itadori boss drop)+8 Melee, +6 Stamina, +5% Black Flash Chance

The Itadori clan is a legendary roll, so treat it as a bonus rather than a plan. Neither the clan nor Demon Arms is required to start the trial. They just cut down how many swings you need to hit 250.

The Yuji Itadori look itself is purely cosmetic. If you want the full build, the customization menu covers it with spiky pink-red hair, the dark blue Jujutsu High uniform with a red hoodie collar, and red and yellow hand wraps.

Grind 500 Black Flash Mastery and 250 landed Black Flashes

Both counters only tick while Black Flash Style is the equipped style, so swapping to another moveset for a faster clear stalls your progress. The trial prompt shows the running totals in the format Black Flash Mastery: 56 of 500 and Black Flashes Landed: 10 of 250.

Dense enemy packs are better than single tough targets here, because the Black Flash proc rolls on your basic attacks. Wailing Titan groups in the Shibuya streets are the standard farm, and the base style’s own kit fills in the gaps between M1 strings.

Note: mastery and the Black Flash count fill at different speeds. You will usually hit 500 mastery well before 250 landed Black Flashes, so plan the tail end of the grind around proc chance, not damage.

Start the S Grade Sorcerer trial under the Shibuya bridge

Travel to Shibuya and go to the underside of the bridge. The Black Flash Master is stationed there and carries a quest marker above his head once you are eligible.
Talk to him and pay the 100,000 Yen fee. This starts the trial and spawns the S Grade Sorcerer, with the tracker reading DEFEAT THE S GRADE SORCERER WITH BLACK FLASH.
Fight the boss in Shibuya and keep your Black Flash procs landing on it. The objective is tied to Black Flash specifically, so the fight is built around staying in melee range and chaining M1s rather than kiting.

The on-screen objective during the trial spells out the condition: the S Grade Sorcerer has to go down to Black Flash.

Watch the boss health bar rather than a timer. Black Flash hits stun the target, which opens combo windows, so the fight tends to swing once your procs start chaining.

How to confirm Black Flash II unlocked

The moment the S Grade Sorcerer dies, the game prints NEW! Fighting Style Unlocked – Black Flash II. If that banner does not appear, the boss was not the trial spawn or the kill did not register under the Black Flash condition.

Black Flash II starts with a fresh mastery bar, so its moves unlock as you level the new style rather than arriving all at once.

Why the Black Flash II trial will not start

There are only a few reasons the Black Flash Master refuses the trial, and all of them are checkable in seconds.

  • Black Flash Style is owned but not equipped, so neither counter is being read.
  • Black Flash Mastery is below 500, even if the landed count is already at 250.
  • Fewer than 250 Black Flashes have landed, which is the usual blocker.
  • You are short of the 100,000 Yen fee, which is separate from the 400,000 Yen you already spent on the base style.
  • You are talking to the wrong NPC. The hooded Itadori in the alleyway sells the base style; the Black Flash Master under the bridge runs the trial.

Budget for the full path rather than the trial alone. Between essence farming on the Itadori world boss, 400,000 Yen for the base style, the mastery and proc grind, and another 100,000 Yen at the bridge, Black Flash II is a mid-to-late game project. The upside is that every step of it feeds directly into the style you end up using.
