Suu is a Pathfinder Challenge duelist who stands out in the open world of Beast Fang Ridge, and her challenge is titled Night of Freedom. She fields four Nighttime Form Aniimo, led by a Gracewing that heals and shields the rest of her team, and the whole fight has to be closed out inside a single five-minute window.
Quick answer: Talk to Suu in Beast Fang Ridge at the recommended level of 30, then knock out all four of her Nighttime Form Aniimo before the 5:00 timer runs out.
Suu Pathfinder Challenge rules and location
Pathfinder Challenges are overworld duels against rival trainers, fought in Twine Mode. Suu’s is a single-stage encounter, so there is no reset between waves and no second attempt window inside the run — the clock covers all four of her Aniimo.
| Detail | Value |
|---|---|
| Challenge name | Night of Freedom |
| Region | Beast Fang Ridge |
| Recommended level | 30 |
| Stages | 1 |
| Time limit | 5:00 |
Checking a Pathfinder’s marker on the map reveals their elemental weaknesses before you commit, and the recommended level shows up in the interact prompt, on the map entry, and again on the versus screen. That pre-battle screen is your last chance to swap your line-up, and it lists both teams side by side along with the rules.

Why Gracewing extends the fight
Gracewing is the Wind-element healer of the group, and its kit is built entirely around keeping allies alive rather than dealing damage. Every one of its skills costs 20 EP and has zero power, so the pressure it applies is purely in the time it buys.

- Wind of Rejuvenation — a warm wind zone underfoot heals the whole team for 9% of the caster’s Max HP over 8s, with Wind-type Aniimo gaining an extra 3%. Cooldown 20s.
- Wind of Regeneration — shields allies in the target area for 12% of the caster’s Max HP, lasting 20s. Cooldown 20s.
- Healing Dance — the same 9% team heal over 8s, plus 40% BREAK Damage Reduction for allies standing in the zone.
- Purifying Dance — clears every debuff on nearby teammates, then raises their EP recovery rate by 20% for 10s. Cooldown 15s.
- Phantomflutter — drops a Phantomfly that restores 20 EP to teammates who touch it after a 3s delay, up to two at once.
Its trait, Flutter Heal, increases healing by 20% when Gracewing enters battle as the active Aniimo, and while off field it lingers as a phantom that restores 0.5% of max HP whenever another Aniimo casts a skill or Ultimate.
Burst windows matter more than sustained chip damage here, because the shield and the healing zone both refresh on a 20-second cycle.
How the duel plays out

First clear rewards from Suu
Clearing Night of Freedom for the first time pays out experience, credits and upgrade materials in one drop.
| Reward | Amount |
|---|---|
| Safaris | 300 |
| Credits | 50,000 |
| Common Held Item Core | 2 |

The Fragment – Besauce is the reason to sweep these duels rather than skip them. Collecting 40 fragments lets you trade them for a Besauce at an Outpost shop, and every Pathfinder Challenge hands out exactly one.
How to confirm the clear registered
The duel ends the moment the last of Suu’s four Aniimo is knocked out, and the results screen appears immediately with the item list, the experience gained and the credits added. If that screen shows up, the first clear is banked and the rewards are already in your inventory.

If you are still under the recommended level when you arrive at Beast Fang Ridge, the duel is worth leaving on the map for a few levels. Suu’s healer is built to drag the fight out, and the five-minute limit is the real opponent here.
