Fragrant Colors is the quest that ends Aniimo’s Bloomville stretch and opens the road into Lumenfly Valley. It is also the first real gate in the main story, because you cannot even accept it until you have promoted to Grade II Student. Once you are past that wall, the quest itself is short: a handful of errands in the Sea of Flowers, one Alpha fight, and a crafting scene at a barrier.

Quick answer: Reach level 25 and promote to Grade II Student, then in the Sea of Flowers catch a Flutternym, dance with the Irises, beat the Lv. 27 Alpha Irisal, and craft the fragrance.

Fragrant Colors unlock requirements

After The Unbegun Ceremony, the quest log shows Fragrant Colors with three conditions attached. All three must be cleared before the first objective, “Go to the Sea of Flowers,” becomes trackable.

  • Complete the Elite Training Chapter 1 tasks, including catching and reporting 30 Aniimo in total.
  • Reach character level 25.
  • Finish the Growth Story quest Promotion: Dewdrop Crystal’s Resonance to become a Grade II Student.

The catch-and-report task is the one people stall on. Open the menu, pick Anilog, then teleport to the nearest Outpost and submit your collected catch and topic data at the Research Console. That single submission can push several Chapter 1 tasks over the line at once and raises your Breezy Plains research level.

With Chapter 1 claimed and level 25 reached, Dr. Lewis calls you. Answer it, fast travel to the Sea of Flowers, and find Wally standing in the lavender field. You examine three clue markers in Observe mode, speak to Wally again, then select Start Challenge Lv.25 to duel him. Winning triggers a cutscene in which Lunara learns Moon-Washed.

Moon-Washed is a Holy-element Regen skill on an 18-second cooldown that costs no EP and deals no damage. Its in-game text reads: “Bathes in moonlight and recovers 20 EP.” Equip it before you go anywhere.

Return to the Outpost, talk to Dr. Lewis, and take the theory exam. All three answers are “All of the Above.” Passing grants the Grade II Student title, raises your Aniimo level cap to 35, and hands you talent points. Spend them on the two active talents below plus the Boss Breaker passive.

Both cost zero EP. Gravity Pull is your gather-and-hold tool for grouped enemies, and Mega Mallet is the damage button you will lean on in the Alpha fight coming up.

All Fragrant Colors objectives

The quest hands you three tracking objectives at once rather than a strict chain, so the marker order on your HUD is a suggestion, not a rule.

  • Go to the Sea of Flowers
  • Look for where the Flutternyms gather, then catch a Flutternym
  • Look for where the Irises gather, then twine with Iris and dance with other Irises
  • Find the Irisal, then wake Irisal through battle
  • Prepare to craft fragrance
  • Head to Lumenfly Valley

The Sea of Flowers sits in the Breezy Plains region and scales from level 19 to 28, so the Alpha at the end of this quest is near the top of the local range rather than an outlier.

Sea of Flowers walkthrough

Travel to the marker in the Sea of Flowers. Sunia stops the group for an intro cutscene explaining that the field is shared by Irises and Flutternyms, and the three sub-objectives appear when it ends.
Head uphill toward the mushroom-shaped windmill house. Flutternyms circle the building, and approaching them triggers the scene where Sunia and Nicole work out how to catch one.

Throw an Aniipod at one of the floating purple Flutternyms to catch it. Flutternyms live alongside Irises and are drawn to their scent, which is why the game sends you to the same field for both.
Summon your Aniipod board and ride to the Iris marker. A cutscene shows a ring of Irises dancing, and Nicole and Sunia explain that they need Iris pollen for the incense. Catch a wild Iris here and add it to your deployed party if you do not already have one.
Twine with your Iris, walk into the middle of the circle, press C to Twine, and pick “Lead the dance.” The scene that follows has the Friendly Iris and Happy Iris hand over the pollen. You should see Irisal Pollen x1 added to your items.

Follow the remaining marker to the Irisal. Snowy tries to talk to her first, but she is too absorbed in her dance steps to respond, so Sunia suggests getting her attention with a fight. Before you engage, open the Aniimo menu and set your battle party.
Fight the Lv. 27 Alpha Irisal. A party in the mid-20s handles it comfortably, and twining into one of your damage dealers to fight directly is the fastest way through. After the win, the Irisal grumbles about her ruined petals, recognizes Snowy, and agrees to help.

Run to the crafting waypoint. On the way, Snowy points out a patch of withered white flowers, and the group discusses the colorlessness that drained the land a century ago when the Vein fractured, along with the origin of the Bloom Festival held every ten years for Lady Irelia.

Let Sunia craft the fragrance, then ride to the entrance of Lumenfly Valley. A glowing blue barrier blocks the path, and the crafted fragrance is the only thing that opens it. Sunia burns it in the cutscene and the way clears.

Fragrant Colors rewards

RewardAmount
Safaris1,200
Credits40,000
Aniimo EXP4,800
Aniipod Pro20
Growth Fruit10

The Safari payout is the part worth noting, since character EXP is what gates the next promotion wall later in the story.

How to confirm Fragrant Colors is complete

The barrier cutscene is the completion trigger. When it ends, the quest is marked complete, the reward summary appears, and the log immediately starts tracking the next main story quest, The Land of Dancing Illusions. If your log still shows “Head to Lumenfly Valley,” the barrier scene has not played yet and you need to reach the valley entrance marker.

From there the story continues inside Lumenfly Valley, where you light the incense at the barrier, twine with a member of the Flutternym family to push deeper, and go after Sunia.
