Season 6: The Haunting brings the Forbidden Summoning Event to Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Endgame, a nighttime world event that ends with a fight against Greylorm, a giant Aether Worm modeled on the Red Worm from Modern Warfare Zombies. Completing it requires breaking three Summoning Seals across Avalon, then killing the boss at the Stadium for a pair of exclusive rewards.
Quick answer: Escort a Ritual Orb at each of the three Summoning Seals, kill 100 enemies with Exotic weapons at every seal, then head to Trinity Stadium and destroy Greylorm’s glowing weak spots to earn the Heatsync AAROW 19.

Requirements before you start the event
The event gates behind your progression and your loadout. Meet both conditions before the Summoning Seal alert shows up, or you will not be able to complete the middle stage.
- A Combat Rating of 55 or higher.
- At least one Exotic Weapon equipped, since the seal stage only counts Exotic kills.
- Plenty of ammunition, because each seal spawns continuous enemy waves.
- Ideally other players nearby, so seals and the boss go down faster.
If you still need an Exotic, you can build one at the Exotic Fabricator, which upgrades a weapon to Exotic rarity and lets you reroll its traits and utility bonuses.

Stocking up on resources first also helps. Guild supply drops around the map are a reliable way to top off gear before the ritual waves start.

Greylorm only appears after all three seals are destroyed. Each seal has the same two-part structure: escort a Ritual Orb, then thin out enemies until the seal charges fully.

When the last seal breaks, the Greylorm world event countdown begins. That is your cue to move toward the Stadium.

Where Greylorm spawns and how to fight it
Greylorm emerges at the Stadium POI (Trinity Stadium), which gives the huge Aether Worm room to surface and burrow. Land on the roof or drop into the arena and open fire on its glowing weak spots to deal real damage. Critical hits matter here, so accuracy is worth more than raw volume.

The boss has a large health pool but no strict time limit, so you can play it patiently. Clear surrounding adds, keep moving, and pour fire into the weak points whenever they are exposed.
Greylorm’s four attacks and how to counter them
| Attack | What it does | Counter |
|---|---|---|
| Orb | Spits floating orbs that chase and damage you | Shoot the orbs to destroy them |
| Laser | Fires a beam across the arena | Sidestep out of the line |
| Bite | Bites the nearest player up close | Keep your distance |
| Burrow | Goes underground, then resurfaces to eat the nearest player | Leave the field, or use your wingsuit if launched into the air |
The east side of the Stadium has a Munitions Box, letting you restore your armor during the fight if your health or armor becomes low.
Rewards and how to confirm the event is complete
Defeating Greylorm starts an extraction sequence and awards two items. One reward is one of two Exotic Skills, consistent with the rewards from other world events. The other is the Heatsync AAROW 19 Exotic Weapon, a launcher inspired by The Scorcher Wonder Weapon from Modern Warfare Zombies.
Mobility is the Heatsync AAROW 19’s special feature: shoot the ground below yourself to propel into the air, then fire again to maintain the effect. The launcher is guaranteed through the Greylorm world event during its first week; afterward, it enters the general world-event reward pool.
You know the run counted when Greylorm bursts in a purple explosion, the world event and its weekly challenge register as complete, and you can loot the exotic drop. To keep the rewards, make sure you extract at the exfil point rather than dying or leaving before the sequence finishes.
