The Ring of Focus is the accessory you reach for when you want Coen’s abilities off cooldown as often as possible. Instead of handing you flat damage, it feeds activation charge back every time you swing, block, or land a perfect block, which is exactly what an ability-heavy playstyle runs out of first.

Quick answer: Ring of Focus is a Legendary ring that restores activation charge from attacks, blocks, and perfect blocks. Buy it for roughly 1,004 denarii, or kill the Headhunter Jutta after reaching Infamy level 7.

Ring of Focus stats and drawbacks

It is a Legendary ring weighing 0.1 kg, worth about 1,004 denarii and selling back for 168. Its four positive lines all point at the same thing, which is keeping your activation charge topped up during a fight.

EffectValue
Attacks restore Activation Charge+15% to +27%
Blocking restores Activation Charge+15% to +27%
Perfect Blocks restore Activation Charge+15% to +27%
Magical Damage Reduction+5% to +9%

The exact percentages depend on which version of the ring you end up with. Lower-level copies sit near the bottom of those ranges, while the higher-level ones looted deeper into a playthrough land closer to the top. The level shown in your inventory tells you which one you picked up.

There is a cost attached. The ring’s negative modifiers can cut passive activation charge restoration, raise the health cost of Witchcraft abilities, and lower Witchcraft ability damage. It rewards you for actively attacking and blocking, and punishes you for standing back and casting.

If your build leans on Witchcraft damage, the penalties here work against you. Ring of Focus is a utility piece for sword and ability uptime, not a universal best-in-slot accessory.

Get Ring of Focus from the Headhunter Jutta

The most reliable way to force a drop is to make yourself a target. Raising Infamy brings the Headhunters into the valley, and one of them carries the ring.

Push your Infamy to level 7. Fighting patrols and hostile groups out in the woods is the quickest way to build it up, and you can watch the meter climb as you go.
Open the Court screen and confirm the decree “On Public Enemy” has been issued by Brencis. That decree is what sends Headhunters out into the valley to look for you.

Travel to the road that runs below the city, near The Silts. The patrol route sits just south of a Destroyed Shrine, so use the shrine as your landmark on the map.

Engage the Headhunter group on the road. The one you need is Jutta, Elder of Clan Gedr, and she arrives with minions, so clear the escort or keep them stunned while you focus her down.

Buy Ring of Focus from merchants

If you would rather skip the fight, the ring is unusually easy to buy. Sixteen merchants across the valley carry it, each stocking a single copy that is always available, at around 1,004 denarii.

Other ways the ring turns up

Beyond merchants and Jutta, the ring shows up in a few other places, though none of them are guaranteed on a given run.

  • Soldiers can drop it during both day and night phases.
  • Recorded drop areas include Boar’s Back, Briar Sloughs, Maragir Wealds, St. Tyna’s Grove, Svartrau City, Tantari Woods, and The Silts.
  • The valley holds 26 soldier sites in total, only 7 of which the map marks, and whether a given group carries the ring comes down to the roll.
  • It is also handed out as the reward for the Xanthe Court activity Xanthe’s Excavations: Ghostly Possession.

Chasing random soldier drops is the slowest route. Buying a copy or running the Headhunter fight gets it into your hands on a schedule you control.

Perks and abilities that pair with Ring of Focus

The ring only pays off if you are generating charge in the first place, which means leaning on blocks and sword swings rather than sitting back. A handful of perks stack directly onto what it does.

  • Sustained Focus raises your activation charge count, giving the ring more room to refill.
  • Restless Blade cuts Swordmastery ability cooldowns, and works hand in hand with Sustained Focus.
  • Perfect Block grants activation charge on a successful perfect block, which the ring then multiplies.
  • Counterattack turns each of those blocks into a heavier follow-up swing.
  • Endless Ferocity shortens Vampirism cooldowns further, with extra reduction on critical hits at level 2.

For the abilities themselves, Artery Strike is the obvious beneficiary during the day, since it hits hard and can decapitate whoever you are locked onto. Dirty Trick at level 3 gives you group crowd control between casts, and Adrenaline Rush rewards you for using active abilities in the first place. Rotating Artery Strike, normal attacks, a perfect block, then normals again keeps charge flowing and ability damage stacked.

Confirm the ring is working

Open your inventory and check the accessory slot. A correctly equipped Ring of Focus shows its Legendary rarity, its level, and the four bonus lines, three of them Activation Charge Restoration and one Magical Damage Reduction, alongside its negative modifiers.

In combat, the change is visible on the charge meter rather than your damage numbers. Land a few attacks and one clean perfect block, and the bar should climb noticeably faster than it did before, letting you fire the next ability sooner than your usual rhythm allows.
