Mini Boss Zuko is the first real fight most players run into in Slayers 2. He sits in the Windy Peak area with a cutlass in hand, blocks a lot of what you throw at him, and guards a weapon that makes the entire early grind faster.

Quick answer: Take Krue’s Zuko quest at Level 7, find Zuko in the field near Windy Peak, and beat him with short melee bursts broken up by dashes. He drops his Cutlass at a 20% chance.

Mini Boss Zuko: Level, location, and rewards

Zuko is a Level 10 mini boss tied to the Missing Cutlass objective, and he patrols the open ground around Windy Peak near the Lost Castle. The HUD tracker at the top of the screen lists his level and payout the moment you get close, so you can confirm you have the right target before committing.

Set your spawn point to the closest Bamboo Grove before you engage. If the fight goes badly, you respawn a short run away instead of crossing half the map again.

What to bring before you fight Zuko

Zuko is beatable with your starting kit, but a weapon and two skill nodes swing the fight noticeably. Krue unlocks the quest at Level 7, and grinding his three-Bandit task a couple more times before heading out is rarely wasted time.

  • A katana from Raze: the Regular Katana costs 500 Wen, the Fancy Katana 1,500 Wen.
  • Movement nodes in the skill tree, specifically double jump and wall climb.
  • Points in the HP and block branches if you keep dying mid-combo.
  • Stamina investment, since dashing out of his swings is the core of the fight.

You get three skill points every level, so there is room to cover movement and survivability before you reach Zuko’s arena. Busy servers also help here, because mob and quest experience scales up with the number of players online.

How to defeat Mini Boss Zuko

Head out from Windy Peak into the open field toward the Lost Castle and look for the NPC holding a cutlass. His nameplate reads Mini Boss Zuko, and the reward banner appears at the top of your screen once he is in range.
Open with basic melee hits rather than a long combo. Zuko blocks, and a swing that lands on his guard leaves you standing in front of him during his counter.

Dash the moment he winds up. Two or three hits, then a dash out, then re-approach is the loop that keeps your health bar intact for the whole fight.

Back off entirely when your health drops low instead of trading hits. Retreating a few steps is enough to break his pressure, and you can walk back in once his swing finishes.
Let other players tag in. Zuko is a shared world spawn, so anyone else in the area chipping away at his HP shortens the fight, and you still get the quest credit and rewards.

Confirming the kill and claiming the drops

Zuko disappears in a blast effect when he goes down, and the top of the screen immediately fills in with your payout: +60 Exp and +25 Wen, plus mastery for whatever you fought with. A fists-only run reads +352 Fist Mastery. A respawn timer also appears, which is your cue for how long to wait before farming him again.

A chest drops where he died. Walk into it and hold the T prompt to pull the loot out. Cosmetic pieces that can appear include:

  • Chained Glasses
  • Black Kumo Haori
  • Hoshiko Kasa
  • Mist Kumo Sodenashi

Cosmetics can be worn for stats with Equip, or purely for looks with Equip Vanity, so a drop you do not want to build around is still worth keeping.

Why the Cutlass is worth re-farming Zuko

The Cutlass is the actual prize, and it only drops one in five kills. It is one of the few starter weapons that comes with its own move, Quick Draw, which turns early mob clearing and quest grinding into a much shorter job than swinging a plain katana.

Because of that drop rate, plan on several runs. Zuko respawns on the timer shown after each kill, and the loop back to him from Windy Peak is short, so repeat attempts cost little beyond time. Wen and experience stack up on every attempt regardless of whether the weapon drops.

Once the Cutlass is in your inventory, return to Krue to close out the quest and move on to Tom’s bear-hunting line at Level 13. Zuko stays worth revisiting if you want a second Cutlass or the cosmetic pieces you missed, and you can jump straight back in from the Slayers 2 game page whenever the timer resets.
