Slayers 2 has a big map and a lot of running. Shrines are the fix. Each one is a red torii gate that becomes a fast-travel destination once you pay for it, which cuts out the long treks between Windy Peak, the bear area, and the questlines waiting further west.
Quick answer: Walk to a shrine’s torii gate and hold T to buy it, or open the map and click the shrine icon to unlock it remotely. The Bamboo Grove Shrine costs 10,000 Wen.
Shrine unlock cost and the two ways to pay
Shrines are bought with Wen, the same currency you spend on katanas and trainer requirements. There is no quest chain gating them and no trainer to talk to. If you have the money, the unlock is instant.
| Method | Where you do it | Input |
|---|---|---|
| Torii gate | Standing at the shrine | Hold T, confirm |
| Map screen | Map menu, from anywhere | Click the shrine icon |
Prices are attached to individual shrines, so read the confirmation prompt before you agree to it rather than assuming every gate charges the same as the Bamboo Grove.

T. A prompt reading “Unlock the Bamboo Grove Shrine for 10,000 Wen?” will appear. Accept it and the shrine is added to your fast-travel network.
Unlock a shrine from the map screen
You do not actually have to be standing at the gate. Shrines can be purchased remotely, which is the faster option when you have the Wen but not the patience for the trip.
How to confirm the shrine unlocked
The Wen is deducted immediately and the purchase prompt disappears. After that, selecting the shrine on the map no longer offers to sell it to you — it offers to travel there instead. That switch from a purchase prompt to a travel option is the confirmation that the unlock went through.
Which shrines to unlock first
Shrines are scattered across the world, and buying them in the order you reach them is usually better than saving up for a distant one you cannot use yet. The locations that pay for themselves early include:
- Bamboo Grove — the first shrine in range of the starting area, and a frequent Spider Lily spawn zone.
- Hidden Mist — connected to the Bamboo Grove by the Wano Gate.
- Mistfall — your staging point for the harbor, the bridges, and the Flame trainer route.
- Butterfly Estate — the approach to the long southern bridge toward Final Selection Plains.
- The snow area — worth having before you start hunting anything in Icevail Valley.
Set your spawn crystal to match your grind
Fast travel is only half of the travel-time problem. The other half is where you land after you die. Look for the pink spawn crystal in a settlement and interact with it to set that point as your respawn location.
Move it whenever your grinding area changes. Setting your spawn to the nearest Bamboo Grove to wherever you are farming is one of the cheapest time savers in the game, and it costs nothing beyond walking over to the crystal once.
