Island Adventure: Nightfall Tales is a Journey quest in Aniimo that hides its entire solution behind two systems most players ignore: the time-of-day slider and your active Aniimo. The quest sits on a small island north of the Russet Highlands coast, where a Scar-faced Helgon keeps a campfire and a ring of empty stone seats. Nothing happens there during the day, and nothing happens at night either unless you are wearing the right body.

Quick answer: Travel to the northern island, set the Day and Night menu to Nighttime, then twine with Pawney. Once the stone seat is vacant, interact with it to start the Night Talk: Fire is the King encounter.

Requirements before the quest will trigger

Two things gate this quest, and neither is optional. Both are earned elsewhere in the Breezy Plains, so if the stone seat refuses to do anything, one of these is missing.

  • Helmut’s Island Adventure must be completed first. It is the Russet Highlands Journey quest that puts the island on your map.
  • You need a Pawney in your storage. Pawney comes from the Warrior quest chain over in Beast Fang Ridge.
  • The quest is picked up in Russet Highlands and is filed under the Journey tab, not the main story.

The quest description spells the hint out plainly, ending with a recommendation for a Pawney. That is not flavour text. The stone seat checks what you are twined with at the moment you interact, and every other Aniimo gets nothing.

Where the island is on the Breezy Plains map

Open the world map and look at the water above the Russet Highlands and Beryline Vale coastline. The island is small and detached, sitting north of the mainland, with a single beach and an unlit campfire on it. A yellow waypoint marker with a distance readout points you at the seats once the quest is active, and a green circle on the sand marks the exact spot.

For context on the surrounding region, Russet Highlands is a level 45 to 50 zone with 73 chests, 29 transporters, 8 lumin amber, 3 blooms, 2 bonfires, 16 ecological points, 2 lumin collections and 4 pathfinder challenges. The island encounter itself has no combat, so your level only matters for getting there.

How to complete Island Adventure: Nightfall Tales

Travel to the island and follow the marker to the shore. You will find the Scar-faced Helgon already sitting beside the campfire with the ring of stone seats around it. Walking up in daylight does nothing on its own.
Open the system menu and select Day and Night, then push the time wheel around to Nighttime. The campfire lights and Rookey appears on one of the stone seats, and the objective updates to “Join the Helgon and Rookey gathering.”

Approach the last empty seat and interact with it. With an incorrect twined creature, the game identifies it as the seat belonging to legendary Pawney and stops there. This confirms the location is correct, but the Aniimo you brought is not.

Open the Aniimo menu, scroll through your storage, and deploy Pawney to your active party. Then twine with it so you are physically playing as the dark-armoured knight rather than commanding it.

Step onto the stone platform and interact with the seat again. The Russet Highlands chance encounter Night Talk: Fire is the King appears as a prompt. Confirm it with “Let’s do this!” to start.
Watch or skip the cutscene. The Helgon talks by the fire and the encounter resolves into a summary screen titled “Late-Night Talk of Helmuts and Helgons,” followed by the system line “The night talk ends. Dawn breaks.”

The whole sequence takes well under two minutes once you are standing on the beach, so there is no reason to prepare a team or bring consumables.

How to know the quest completed

A mural illustration fills the screen when the night talk ends. Closing it marks Island Adventure: Nightfall Tales as complete in the Journey log, and the reward toast appears on the HUD immediately after. If you reopen the map, the quest location no longer shows an active objective marker.

The mural chip is the piece worth caring about. It is a quest item rather than currency, and it records the artwork you just uncovered on the island.

What the night talk reveals about the Infergon

The encounter exists to answer the question the quest text poses, namely why an ancient mural of Infergon sits on an island that appears to belong to a Helgon. Twined as a Pawney, you sit in on a conversation with a Helmwhelp and learn that the Helmut and Helgon families were once allies, and that a war over shrinking resources split them.

The Infergon is revealed to be a Helmwhelp that consumed a flame flower, returns to life repeatedly, and is fated to battle every successive generation of Pawney. The previous Pawney left behind the relic called the Sword of Bravery. This accounts for the third seat remaining vacant and its opening only for someone in Pawney’s form.

Once the chip is in your inventory, the island has nothing left to give. If you want the wider story it belongs to, the same Journey tab holds The Legend of Helmuts and Helgons alongside the other regional legends of the Breezy Plains.
