Silent Hill Townfall: How to Unlock the St. Amelia Park Door

The door leading into St. Amelia Park sits on the edge of Town Square in the Shorefront district, and it will not budge no matter how many keys you are carrying. There is no keyhole, no code, and no lever. What is covering it is a sheet of organic tissue, and the only thing that gets through it is a surgical blade you pick up much earlier in the main story.

Quick answer: Get the Scalpel from the first aid kit in the “Z Ellis” office inside the Clinic, return to the door in Town Square, and hold R2 on the skin graft to cut it open.

What blocks the St. Amelia Park gate

St. Amelia Park is the link between Town Square and the northern, upper stretch of the Shorefront district. The rusted iron gate into it is sealed by a membrane of flesh grown over the sliding panel, which hides the latch underneath. Cutting the tissue away exposes that latch and lets the gate slide open.

This is not an optional detour. The Scalpel is a story key item, so it cannot be permanently missed, but you do have to clear two earlier objectives in Zoe’s house before the Clinic will even let you in.

The three key items in the chain

The newsagent’s shop sits just outside the alley that leads to Zoe’s place. The front door is locked, so loop around and go in through the back, keeping your distance from the monster patrolling nearby. Once the Electricard is yours, restore power from the crawlspace to the right of Zoe’s staircase.

Open the organ box to get Zoe’s Lanyard

Once the power is restored, go to the living-room computer and open email number two. Its message directs you to the “Human Organ in Transit” cooler in the kitchen.

Head upstairs to the bathroom connected to the bedroom and pick up the organ transport card from the floor. The card carries the numbers you need for the cooler’s two dial locks.

Back in the kitchen, inspect the cooler and set the left three-digit lock to 956. Each dial turns independently, so line them up one at a time.

Move to the right-hand lock and set those dials to 133. When both sides match, the prompt “Will you open the box?” appears.

Confirm the prompt. A short cutscene plays as the cooler opens, and you walk away with Zoe’s Lanyard, described in your inventory as a medical card belonging to Zoe Ellis of the Shorefront Family Clinic. Your map updates with the Clinic marked in red.

Find the Scalpel inside the Clinic

From Town Square, travel northeast toward the Clinic. The route takes you past a row of abandoned market stalls, and the game will remind you to approach enemies carefully, so move slowly through the open ground rather than sprinting it.

Use Zoe’s Lanyard on the digital card reader next to the Clinic entrance. This raises the metal security shutter, giving you access to the building.

Follow the main corridor until you reach the door labelled Z Ellis. Inside is Zoe’s office, with a resignation letter you can examine on the way through.

Open the first aid kit on the desk next to the computer. Inside, you will find the Scalpel, recorded in your inventory as a standard, clean medical scalpel.

Cut the door open in Town Square

Walk back to Town Square and stand in front of the strange door blocking the park. Check your paper map first if you lose your bearings, since the gate is marked as the north entrance into St. Amelia Park.

Use the organic covering, then hold R2 while pulling the blade across the skin graft. The tissue separates from the sliding panel, revealing the latch beneath and allowing the gate to open into the fog.

You will know it worked when the gate swings open and your map registers the park entrance as reached. The Scalpel is not consumed, so it stays in your inventory permanently.

The same blade opens the front door of the St. Amelia Pharmacy in the southern part of Shorefront, so keep an eye out for other doors sealed with the same tissue.

Where to go once the park is open

The obvious paths through the middle of St. Amelia Park are blocked, so the route forward runs northwest through the alleyways that wrap around it. Take that loop rather than hunting for a way across the gardens.

As you go, unlock every gated entrance you find that points back toward Town Square. Opening them from the far side turns them into permanent shortcuts, which matters a lot when you are backtracking through the Shorefront district with a creature somewhere behind you.
