The Park hides one of Manhattan’s five regional Resonant fights, and it is gated behind a scavenger hunt rather than a locked door. Dylan has to track down and eat four separate pieces of mold before the boss arena will even open. Finishing the fight pops Insidious Growth, a Bronze trophy that reads “Kill the Resonant in the Park.”
Quick answer: Eat the mold in the crevice at the center of the Park to start The Park Resonant, consume the Pizzeria, Minimart, and Gym strains, then enter the Mold Gate and kill the Collective.
The Park Resonant quest at a summary level
| Detail | Value |
|---|---|
| Quest | The Park Resonant |
| Zone | The Park |
| Start trigger | Eat the mold in the central Park crevice |
| Boss | The Collective |
| Trophy | Insidious Growth (Bronze) |
| Ability reward | Spore Burst or Growth |
The Park encounter belongs to the Resonant boss-quest chain, which runs alongside the main story instead of being part of it. Defeating each Resonant grants Dylan a new Combat Ability, while restoring the Mural in the Gap requires victories over the entire group. Skipping the Park fight therefore forfeits more than one trophy.
Look at the number on the Resonant’s health bar first, and commit only if Dylan’s Power Level matches it; otherwise, the battle scales poorly against you.

Add to Google Preferences →Starting the quest: the mold hole in the middle of the Park
The chain begins at a hole in the ground near the center of the Park. Drop into the cavern below and look for a small booth tucked into the mold growth. Inside, a Piece of Delicious Mold sits on a table.

Interacting with it accepts The Park Resonant and adds three more strains to your objective list. The sealed organic Mold Gate at the back of this cavern is where you will return later, so it is worth dropping a marker before you climb back out.
All three mold locations in the Park
| Strain | Building | Where to look |
|---|---|---|
| Pizzeria Mold | Paradise Pizza Place | Through the sewer route, then street level |
| Minimart Mold | Urban Fresh Mart | North of East Supply Route Station |
| Gym Mold | Ruined gym | Northern Park, on an office desk |
Pizzeria Mold at Paradise Pizza Place

Minimart Mold at Urban Fresh Mart
The second strain sits north of East Supply Route Station, inside the Urban Fresh Mart. Follow the street north until the shopfront appears, walk in, and consume the third Piece of Delicious Mold. There is no puzzle here, just the walk.

Gym Mold in the northern Park
The last strain is in the northern section of the Park, inside a ruined gym. Jump across the rooftops in that area and drop down into the collapsed interior. The fourth piece is on an office desk rather than growing off a wall, so look for the desk instead of scanning the ceilings.

Opening the Mold Gate and killing the Collective
With all four pieces eaten, travel back to the crevice where the quest started and drop in again. The organic Mold Gate that blocked the tunnel is now open. Passing through it puts you straight into the boss arena, so heal and swap abilities before you walk in.
The Resonant here is the Collective. It is a straight combat encounter inside the mold chamber with no extra objectives, and the fight ends once its health bar empties.
Confirming the Insidious Growth trophy unlocked
You will know it worked without checking a menu. The kill immediately opens the Combat Ability Selection screen, where you pick between Spore Burst and Growth, and the quest completion banner for The Park Resonant follows straight after with the unlocked rewards listed.
Insidious Growth pops at that point. It currently sits in Rare territory on PSN, and nothing about the Park chain is flagged as missable, so the Park stays open for cleanup if you reach the credits without clearing it.
