The second objective of Orientation drops Dylan onto a wrecked Manhattan street with no map, no traversal powers, and a single instruction: find Zoe. The hotel is your landmark, and the route to it runs through alleys, rooftops, and a few groups of Hiss you do not have to fight.

Quick answer: Head southwest toward the highlighted hotel, use the Report Hotel prompt to radio Zoe, then follow the street, cut through the right-hand alley, cross the rooftops, and run to the gap where Zoe is standing.

Where the hotel objective sits in the Orientation mission

Orientation is the opening main mission of Control Resonant, and it runs long. Meeting Zoe is the first objective after you get outside, and it acts as the bridge between the Oldest House tutorial and the city itself.

Nothing here is missable, and the mission rewards only land once you finish the whole of Orientation by beating The Artist.

The full Downtown map is not available this early, so the game leans on line of sight instead. Keep these four things in mind before you set off.

  • The hotel sits to the southwest and is briefly highlighted for you when you reach the street.
  • Use the building itself as your compass — if you can see it, you are heading the right way.
  • Dylan has no double jump yet, so wide gaps need a dodge to clear.
  • Most Hiss groups on this stretch can be run past rather than cleared.

Route from the Oldest House exit to Zoe

After squeezing through the opening in the wall and reaching the street, look toward the hotel and trigger the Report Hotel prompt. Dylan radios Zoe to confirm he can see the building, and the objective locks in.

Sprint down the avenue past the abandoned cars and the bodies hanging in the air. Zoe keeps talking about the Hiss while you move, and the conversation continues no matter how fast you go.

Take the route to the right, then cut left into the alley. Jump the barriers stacked across it and vault the chain-link fence at the far end to keep moving.
Climb the scaffolding onto the roof, drop into the inner courtyard, and take the stairs up to the graffiti-covered upper roof. Some of the gaps up here are too wide for a plain jump, so dodge mid-air to cover the extra distance.

Run up the alley staircase into the intersection. Hiss are waiting here, but the objective marker is straight ahead, so you can push through without stopping to clear them.

One of the fights along this stretch unlocks your first Secondary Melee form. Pick whichever option you prefer — the choice does not block the objective and can be revisited later through your loadout.

Climb over the white van blocking the road and run down the middle of the street to the end. The pavement stops at an enormous gap torn through the city, and Zoe is standing right at the edge of it.

Confirming the objective is complete

Reaching Zoe at the edge of the abyss ends the objective on its own. The tracker in the quest log flips to Investigate the alley, which is your cue that it registered.

After speaking with Zoe, enter the nearby alley behind her. The route immediately becomes another traversal section over the buildings; use the flock of birds as your guide until the path eventually funnels through a window you must reach. Beyond it, Orientation continues with the search for Jesse, your first Ritual, and the battle against The Artist.
