Snezhnaya’s main story picks up again in Version 7.1 with White Night, Like A Dream Upon Waking, the Chapter 7 Act 3 Archon Quest. It is a long, dialogue-heavy act built around the Traveler finally getting an audience with the Tsaritsa, and it ends with a very different kind of scene inside the Northland Bank.
Quick answer: Finish Chapter 7 Act 2, Wraith’s Nocturne, to unlock White Night, Like A Dream Upon Waking. Its three subquests take about two hours rushed, closer to three at a normal pace.
Unlock requirements for White Night, Like A Dream Upon Waking
There is only one gate here, and it is a story gate rather than an Adventure Rank wall.
- Complete Chapter 7 Act 1, Everwinter Without Mercy.
- Complete Chapter 7 Act 2, Wraith’s Nocturne, which directly unlocks Act 3.
- Update the game to Version 7.1, which went live on September 23, 2026.
Story Keys are not involved. Archon Quests never consume them, so once Wraith’s Nocturne is cleared the new act appears in your quest menu immediately.

| Light and Shadow, Intertwined | 30–40 mins | 45–50 mins |

The speedrun figures assume auto-dialogue and skipping through text as fast as the game allows. The slower number includes cutscenes played out in full plus the optional NPC conversations that open up after certain scenes.
Part 1: Light and Shadow, Intertwined
The opening subquest is almost entirely navigation and conversation, with no combat to prepare for. Objectives run in this order:
- Find Childe
- Go to the Podvorye Restaurant
- Return to Your Room to Rest
- Go to the Zapolyarny Palace, then Follow Childe
- Speak With the Tsaritsa, Follow the Tsaritsa, Try to Find Out More
- Go to the Armory Palace, Wait for The Jester to Pull the Memory, View Memory
Childe is waiting by the steps of the royal palace in Snezhnograd, and the talk there is about arranging the audience with the Tsaritsa in the first place.

The Podvorye Restaurant stop turns into an interrogation. Danica, the head maid, sits down uninvited to probe why you want to see the Tsaritsa, then tests your reflexes with a fast coin-catching game across the table. Vesna, commander of the Druzhna, cuts the scene short, settles your bill, and dresses Danica down.

After resting, the climb up to Zapolyarny Palace leads into the throne room, where Anastasya Feodorovna Snezhnaya addresses her ministers and Harbingers. Pierro and Mitya report that Ronova’s curse has stalled their energy research. The Tsaritsa then calls out the Traveler, lifts every ongoing Fatui investigation against you, and grants free movement inside the palace.
The private conversation that follows in her study covers the Pyro Gnosis, the Third Descender, and her authority of love, and ends with her showing you the huge crystalline seal the Third Descender left behind.

Pierro then takes the party down into the research facility beneath the Armory Palace and demonstrates the Mirror of Remembrance, a hovering prism built to store and pick apart extracted memories.

The memory it plays back shows Rhinedottir talking with Ronova about mortality and the rules Celestia enforces.

To finish the section, Regrator and Sandrone suggest using Vesna’s Ruler of Life power to extract Seals of Life from living beings. Vesna confirms the method by pulling a Seal of Life from Danica, bringing a shared memory between them to the surface as well.

Part 2: Sparks Converging Upon the Tundra
This is the shortest stretch of the act and the one with the most waiting built in. The objective chain is:
- Return to Your Room to Rest, then Wait Until Two Days Later
- Talk to Paimon, Check on the Situation Outside, Observe the Crowd at the Plaza
- Go to Northland Bank
- Go to Svetloledovka and Collect Seals of Life
- Summon the Train and Return to Snezhnograd
- Talk to Everyone, Talk to Vesna, then Go to Northland Bank
First, Danica arrives at your hotel room to clean it and serve tea, offering a formal apology from the palace. Two days later, Snezhnograd is in turmoil over the donation of Seals of Life, while a crowd confronts Councilor Belozersky on the palace steps, demanding to know precisely what is being collected. Regrator calms them by promising Northland Bank compensation and deposit rewards to anyone who gives one up.
Odette, Vodyanitsa, and Alyosha are among the first volunteers at the bank counter. The trip out to Svetloledovka is by express train, where Vesna performs the extractions on willing townsfolk while Odette hands out official deposit vouchers. The return ride is a quiet character scene between Vesna, Danica, and the Traveler about their mentors and what their jobs actually demand of them.
Part 3: One Move Left to Make
The final subquest is the longest and the only one with real fighting in it, so bring a team you are comfortable with before you start. It runs through a tail-and-interrogate sequence, then a break-in.
- Go to the Backstage of the Opera House to Discuss, then Go to the Station
- Look for the Contact, Disguise Yourself as a Customer and Get in Touch with the Contact
- Catch up to the Contact, Pursue the Contact, Question the Suspect
- Explain the Situation to the Tsaritsa
- Go to Northland Bank, Speak to the Receptionist, Go to the Vault, Talk to Vesna
- Take the Underground Train at the Bank, Follow the Staff Member, Look for the Secret Passage
- Sneak Into the Vault and Defeat the Guards That Have Come
- Follow Regrator, Defeat the Mysterious Monster, Leave Northland Bank, Have a Gathering With Everyone
The two combat objectives sit back to back near the end, with the guards fight leading almost straight into the Mysterious Monster. Heal and restock food before you take the underground train, because there is no convenient break once the vault section starts.
Confirming the act is complete
The act closes on the “Have a Gathering With Everyone” objective after you leave Northland Bank. Once that scene ends, the quest clears from your active tracker and White Night, Like A Dream Upon Waking shows as completed under Chapter 7 in the Archon Quest menu, with all three subquests ticked off.
From there, Chapter 7 continues into Act 4, A Rekviem for the Underworld. If you skipped ahead and the act is still locked for you, the missing prerequisite is Wraith’s Nocturne, not your Adventure Rank.
