Crystal Clear is a one-step side quest handed out by the Trademaster, and it looks simple until you open a Furnace and discover you cannot make a Lens yet. The whole quest hinges on a single missing piece of equipment, and everything else is just gathering materials to build it.

Quick answer: Research the Bellows blueprint under Metallurgy, build the Bellows extension next to Furnace I, smelt 3 Lenses from sand, then hand them to the Manager on the Main Pier.

Crystal Clear quest requirements in Graveyard Keeper 2

The quest becomes available after Docked and Found. Its journal entry asks you to bring the optic glass to the Manager at the Main Pier, and the optic glass in question is the Lens item.

Open a Furnace before you go hunting for materials and the problem is immediately visible. The Lens recipe is listed at Smithy II, Furnace I and Furnace II, but it stays locked behind a “Required extension: Bellows” line. Without that extension bolted onto the furnace, no amount of sand will produce anything.

Unlock the Bellows blueprint in the Metallurgy tech tree

Open the Technology Tree and move to the Metallurgy branch. The node you want is labelled Blueprint: Bellows, and its description confirms it is an extension for Furnace I and Furnace II. Buying that single node does two jobs at once. It puts the Bellows into your build menu and it unlocks the Lens recipe itself, so there is no separate research to chase afterwards.

Materials for the Bellows extension and the Lenses

Two shopping lists matter here. One builds the Bellows, the other feeds the furnace once the Bellows is standing.

Where to dig up Sand

Sand comes from an excavation node on the riverbank, west of the garden and north of the forest, in the stretch of woodland near the Inquisition Base. Interact with the pit repeatedly to fill your bag. Each Lens costs 5x Sand, so budget at least 15 for the three the Trademaster wants, and collect a little extra if you plan to keep making glass later.

How to craft Leather Scrolls

Leather Scrolls are the awkward ingredient because they start in the Morgue. Skin is harvested from corpses on the autopsy table, then carried down to the Writing Desk in the Writing Basement, where it converts into scrolls. You need two for the Bellows.

How to build the Bellows and smelt the Lenses

Check the tile directly beside Furnace I in the Yard. The Bellows only snaps into that dedicated slot next to a furnace, so anything sitting there, whether it is scenery, a stray crate or an older structure, has to be removed first.
Open the Yard build menu and pick the Bellows workbench Extension. With the space clear, place the blueprint against the furnace and confirm it.

Deliver the 2x Leather Scroll, 4x Wooden Plank and 4x Bronze Nails, then build the structure. The counters in the blueprint panel tick over to 2/2 and 4/4 as each material is supplied.
Interact with Furnace I again. The Lens entry is now craftable rather than greyed out. Queue three of them, spending five sand each, and wait for the furnace to finish.

The Bellows is not a single-use quest item. It stays attached to the furnace and also enables Alchemy Flasks II, so leave it in place once Crystal Clear is done.

Hand the optic glass to the Manager at the Main Pier

Carry the finished Lenses into Town and walk out to the Main Pier. The Manager sits behind his counter at the dock. Talk to him and choose Give lenses, then close the conversation with Leave.

Completion is confirmed when the journal changes to “Quest finished” and displays its final line: a new trade ship reaches the Main Pier once a week. That recurring vessel is the errand’s whole purpose, making the pier a regular trading stop instead of a map dead end.

If you built the Bellows before picking up the quest, the delivery is instant, since the Lenses can be smelted at any point after the Metallurgy unlock and simply sit in your inventory until the Manager asks for them.
