Control Resonant: How to Complete Ask Around About Underhill (New Growth)

Ask Around About Underhill opens the New Growth side story in Control Resonant. Dylan Faden must cross The Park’s ruined rooftops coated in Mold, reach the FBC Base, and investigate the disappearance of Dr. Raya Underhill, the researcher leading the Mold study.

Quick answer: Head across the Park’s flooded rooftops to the FBC Base, activate the Fast Travel Door, then speak with the guard Busken about Dr. Underhill to advance the quest.

Where New Growth starts

You can begin New Growth while Zoe’s Briefing is in progress. Visit Zoe in the Watchtower; she mentions Dr. Raya Underhill, a researcher on the Mold team who vanished recently. The quest log gives Dylan a straightforward task: determine what became of Underhill, whose work is important.

Once the quest is active, the first objective reads Ask Around About Underhill, pointing you toward the FBC team stationed in The Park. A yellow diamond marker tracks the objective on both the HUD and the map, with a white waypoint labeled FBC Base showing the destination.

Reach the FBC Base across the Park rooftops

Leave the rooftop in The Park 3 heading east, then northeast, over the flooded rooftops. Continue across nearby buildings and water towers until you reach the FBC Base compound, which is lit up.

Deal with the hostile mold enemies waiting along the rooftops. You can fight through them or dash past, but clearing them keeps the path safe as you close in on the base.

Open the map to confirm your line toward the FBC Base if you lose the marker. The highlighted base and the nearby rooftop routes make it easy to reorient before the final stretch.

Arrive at the FBC Base rooftop and step into the yellow-lined square to activate the phone booth. This unlocks the Fast Travel Door, letting you travel to and from this location later.

Question Busken about Dr. Underhill

Look for Busken, the FBC guard on the base rooftop. He wears hazmat gear marked with yellow stripes and a yellow visor, and carries a shotgun. Go up to him and speak with him about the missing researcher. Busken says Underhill left the research site and has stopped responding over comms.

Work through the dialogue options to complete the objective. The choices you can raise during the exchange include:

How to confirm the objective is complete

Once you finish talking with Busken, a quest update banner appears reading Investigate Underhill’s Last Known Location. That banner is your confirmation that Ask Around About Underhill is done and New Growth has moved to its next step.

Your next objective points to an FBC outpost atop a Park rooftop. It sits on the same block, south of the FBC base, and served as Underhill’s workplace for anti-Mold efforts. Check the map and quest log for the revised details, then go there to carry on with New Growth.
