Firefighters Code Red puts you in the role of a first responder in a realistic firefighting simulation, tackling blazes in homes, industrial locations, and wildfires. Chronos North and Smart Ambition developed it—the same team responsible for Firefighting Simulator: The Squad—and Aerosoft is publishing it. The gameplay is about gearing up, heading to the scene, and containing flames that behave like real fire.
Quick answer: It is an open-world firefighting sim for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, playable solo or in cross-platform co-op for up to four players. No official release date is currently confirmed.
What Firefighters Code Red is
The core idea is a living, open world where every alarm sends you somewhere different. You read the scene, choose the right tools, protect what matters, and try to bring everyone home. The game leans on the developers’ experience from Firefighting Simulator: The Squad and expands the scope to more than 30 mission locations across a North American setting.
It carries an ESRB rating of Everyone and supports 15 languages. On Xbox it runs on both Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, and the console version requires an online multiplayer subscription for co-op play.

Calls range from quiet suburban streets at dusk to full-scale disasters. The mission types shown include residential house fires, commercial storefront blazes, train derailments with explosions and hazardous leaks, and expansive wildfires that threaten whole neighborhoods. Flames can even jump into smaller wooded areas, opening up new problems mid-call.

What keeps calls unpredictable is a layer of random elements. The number and placement of victims can shift, new fires can break out in different spots, and escape routes that were clear can suddenly get blocked. What worked on your last run is not guaranteed to work on the next one.

How the fire behaves
Fire is the game’s main force, and it resists control. Flames consume rooms and change how they spread; they intensify inside buildings and in open areas, leaving destruction in their wake. Smoke can fill areas until sight is reduced to nothing, making it a deadly hazard on its own.
Materials each have their own burning behavior. Backdrafts erupt instantly, and the wrong agent can make a grease fire worse; electronics, chemicals, and runaway chain reactions all call for specific tactics. On every call, you must choose an approach suited to the fire in front of you.

Firefighting gear and vehicle mechanics
You arrive by fire engine and work with a range of authentic tools, each with a moment where it is the right call. The main interactive actions shown so far are these:
- Driving authentic fire trucks to the scene.
- Connecting supply hoses to the truck’s pump intake and pump panels.
- Laying out charged attack hoses and pushing the lines forward.
- Raising extension ladders for rooftop access.
- Using SCBA air packs and extinguishers under pressure.
- Running search and rescue for injured victims, flagged by on-screen objective markers.

Solo and cross-platform co-op
Go solo or bring in a squad. Cross-platform co-op supports teams of two to four players, who can map out the mission, divide responsibilities, and coordinate as the blaze changes. Synchronized hose lines and shared objectives matter when every second counts.

Platforms and where to wishlist
The game is confirmed for PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store, plus PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. You can wishlist it now on any of the official store pages:
On console, co-op requires an online multiplayer subscription such as Game Pass Core or Ultimate, sold separately.
Release status
The game is listed as coming soon, and the reveal teaser closes on a wishlist prompt rather than a launch date. No official release date and time have been confirmed yet, and more gameplay footage is still on the way. Until a date is announced, wishlisting on your platform of choice is the way to be notified when it goes live.
