AOT: Grand Rising on Roblox — Beast Titan Animations and ODM Gear Testing

AOT: Grand Rising is an in-development Attack on Titan game on Roblox, and its latest development preview splits into two clear halves. The first shows custom Beast Titan animations built in Blender. The second is live in-engine testing of the Omni-Directional Mobility (ODM) gear, covering flares, blade work, grappling, and high-speed movement across the walls.

Quick info: The preview demonstrates two things — new Beast Titan movesets (rock pitching, roaring, climbing, and idle dances) and playable ODM gear mechanics with real-time speed, gas, and grapple-distance readouts.

What the Beast Titan preview shows

The Beast Titan animations are modeled and animated in Blender before being brought into the game. The set is built around a baseball theme, matching the character’s throwing style from the series. It leads with a long-windup rock pitch, shown from split side-by-side angles as well as top-down and angled views so each pose can be checked frame by frame.

Beyond the pitch, the reel covers a chest-pumping roar synced to the Japanese “Perfect Game” voice line and audio, wall-climbing cycles, ledge hanging, and celebratory fist-pumping idle dances. Smaller preview windows also tease additional Titan animations in progress. A separate showcase turns the Armored Titan model on a full-body turntable, highlighting its segmented back plating, facial armor, and glowing white eyes.

AOT: Grand Rising ODM gear controls

In the playable portion, you control a white Roblox mannequin wearing the complete ODM setup used by the Scout Regiment: gas canisters, two blade sheaths, a harness, and the Survey Corps “Wings of Freedom” insignia across its back. The test build assigns movement, hooking, and combat to keyboard and mouse controls below.

Equipment slots are toggled with number keys — 1 for no equipped item and 2 for the title equipped state — while W, S, and D also handle walking along footpaths when you are not airborne.

Speed, boost, and grapple tracking

The ODM system reads out live physics on screen. A speed counter climbs through the swing, moving from a standstill up through values like 187, 246, and 349 before topping 376 studs/sec on the fastest boosted runs. A boost meter and a gas indicator sit alongside it, with the gas gauge dropping to EMPTY as fuel runs low.

Wire hooks attach to pillars, wall surfaces, and ground targets, and each anchor shows its distance in studs — figures such as 288, 424, and 659 studs appear on targeting dots in your line of sight. Gas trails and smoke columns mark the character’s path as it grapples between obstacle pillars and races toward the perimeter of Wall Maria.

Signal flares and combat toggles

Signal flares are part of the kit. Standing on top of a wall, the character fires colored smoke into the sky, with green and red both shown in the test. You cycle the flare color with C and fire it with X, then reload gear with B.

Blade combat is handled separately. Drawing and sheathing the swords, the aerial boosting, and the LMB blade attack are all part of the same traversal test, with a combat toggle on F switching between movement and fighting. On-screen labels for a “Combat debug” panel, “Tuning,” and “Upgrades” point to systems still being adjusted during testing.

Where to follow AOT: Grand Rising development

The team behind the project posts development updates and previews across its official channels, and the game itself is listed on Roblox. Development logs, art, and testing footage go out through the official Patreon page, which you can join for free, alongside the game’s YouTube channel, X account, and Discord server.

Everything shown here is a work-in-progress build. Animations, controls, speed values, and combat systems are still being tuned, so the final release may not match the test footage exactly. No official launch date is currently confirmed.
