Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave – What Carries Over Between Part 1 Routes

Each protagonist in Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave runs through a separate 12-chapter Part 1 path, and the game reuses a single save across all of them through its Replay function. Certain systems stay unlocked when you move to a second character, but that carryover only switches on under one specific condition, and most battle progress is wiped clean between paths.

Quick answer: Carryover activates only after you finish all 12 chapters of one character’s Part 1, then start another path by choosing “Replay from Any Chapter” and selecting Chapter 1. Support levels, blessings, and Boons of Salvation are global at all times.

How to trigger carryover into a new route

Fortune’s Weave has no button labelled New Game+. Instead it saves a “bookmark” at the start of every chapter you complete, and the Replay function loads any of those points. Starting a fresh path from Chapter 1 is the only entry point that imports your earlier progress back into the new route.

Complete a character’s entire Part 1 path, all 12 chapters. Only a finished path can feed progress into another one, so playing several protagonists at once from the start gives you nothing to import.
Open the Obelisk Chamber and select the obelisk for the character you want to play next. The four Part 1 paths sit behind the Fox, Lion, Wolf, and Eagle obelisks.

Choose “Replay from Any Chapter” and pick Chapter 1. Do not resume a partial path or load a later chapter. Only a Chapter 1 start imports your explored map and completed subquests; replaying Chapters 2 through 12 loads exactly as that bookmark was first saved, with no imported progress.

The diamond pips at the bottom of the Replay screen show which chapter bookmarks are connected. Replaying an earlier chapter and reaching the next one overwrites that later bookmark, so treat the pips as your map of which runs are linked.

What carries over and what resets

Some systems are global and follow your whole save no matter which chapter you load. Others carry only into a Chapter 1 replay of a completed path. Everything tied to a specific unit’s battle performance is re-earned every time.

World map and carriage travel

Every map node you discovered, every ingredient-gathering spot, and every carriage posthouse route stays revealed when you replay a completed path from Chapter 1. You will not need to re-scout the overworld, and fast travel between unlocked posthouses is available right away.

Physical stronghold gates still have to be passed through again during the story. Places gated by Renown may also stay locked until you meet the requirement on the new route.

Support levels

Support points and ranks are shared across the entire save. Raising a pairing on one route keeps that rank on every other route and on any replay. Each protagonist tracks their own supports, though — building Cai’s bond with a character does not fill Dietrich’s bond with the same character.

You can farm supports by sharing inn meals or by using Restart Chapter to repeat interactions. A lord who is not playable on your current route can still build supports if you invite them to meals, which means one route can max a protagonist’s bonds ahead of time.

Certification class unlocks

Classes you unlock through Certification Exams stay available to eligible units on later paths. That covers options such as Dancer, Guardian, Dragoon, and Troubadour, so you do not need to repeat the exam requirements to access a class you have already earned.

Bulletin board quests and Renown

Subquests shared across routes do not need repeating. When you reach the chapter where a completed quest first became available, it auto-completes and pays out its full XP and Renown at once, rather than dumping every reward at the very start of the route.

Some isolated temple tasks, such as monster-slaying objectives, may still need to be done again by hand on the new path.

Temple blessings and Boons of Salvation

Deity blessings and any cost discounts you bought with Divine Sand stay unlocked across paths, so your temple services carry their upgrades forward.

Temple Blessings03:21Temple Blessings

Boons of Salvation are the strongest of the global systems. Bought at the Perch with Karma Shards earned from Notable Deeds, these upgrades apply account-wide across every character file. That includes the various experience boosts, such as increased combat EXP and per-weapon or per-class EXP gains, which keep applying once toggled on.

What you rebuild every route

Individual character levels, combat experience, and inventory items do not cross between Part 1 paths. Recruitments reset too, so every new protagonist starts recruiting their roster from scratch. This is the part of the game that makes each path a full playthrough rather than a shortcut.

How levels and items reach Act 3

While levels and items are wiped between Part 1 paths, they do carry forward into the later Act 3 content of that same protagonist. Replaying Part 1’s Chapter 12 also updates the party that gets imported into a protagonist’s Part II War Arc, so you can adjust recruits, classes, and levels there and finish the chapter again to lock in that starting point.

You can confirm carryover took effect the moment a Chapter 1 replay loads: the overworld map already shows your explored nodes, and shared subquests tick off with their rewards as you hit each chapter. Because of this, finishing one full 12-chapter path before opening a second is the most efficient way to play, since only a completed path lets its progress flow into the next.
