Architect: How to Farm and Craft Free Epic Equipment

Every free route to Tier 1 Epic gear, from the Episode 9 quest chest to Starfall Plateau drops, shop chests, and crafting.

Epic gear in Architect is the 4-star, Tier 1 grade, and free-to-play players can pick up a full set without touching the diamond store. The quickest path mixes a guaranteed quest chest, direct monster drops in the high-level field zones, weekly shop and clan chests, and crafting from upgraded materials. Each method targets the same Slayer’s set of weapons and armor.

Quick answer: Finish the Episode 9 quest A Rookie Hunter in Peril for a guaranteed 4-star 1-Tier Equipment Selection Chest, then farm the Lv. 51–55 zones of Starfall Plateau once you reach roughly 180,000 Combat Power for Slayer’s gear drops.

Claim the guaranteed Epic chest from Episode 9

The most reliable Epic piece comes from the story. Completing A Rookie Hunter in Peril, part of the [EP.9] The Hidden Path chapter, awards a 4-star 1-Tier Equipment Selection Chest. That chest lets you choose any Tier 1 Epic weapon, armor slot, or accessory, so you can fill whichever gap your build has.

The same quest line pays out roughly 500M EXP and 400K Gold on completion, and one of its objectives asks you to defeat nearby monsters up to a count of 400. Once the quest flips to complete, the selection chest lands in your inventory and you open it to pick your piece. For reference, a Slayer’s Staff pulled this way starts at 307 Attack Power and climbs to 496 by +7, comfortably ahead of a 3-star Tier 4 Mist Staff at the same enhancement level.

Farm Slayer’s Epic drops in Starfall Plateau

Starfall Plateau is where Epic weapons and armor drop straight off field monsters. You need enough survivability to clear the Lv. 51–55 packs efficiently, which in practice means around 180,000 Combat Power or higher. Below that, kills are slow and the run stops paying for itself. Each zone has two useful farm targets, one for a weapon and one for an armor slot.

Both quest-reward and field-drop Epic gear arrive Bound, so you cannot resell it on the Marketplace. Treat these pieces as gear to equip and keep, not to trade.

Open Epic chests from Challenge Missions, shops, and clan rewards

Several free reward tracks feed either finished Epic pieces or the blueprints and materials you need to build them. None of these cost diamonds.

  • Architect Challenge Missions: Reaching the Day 10 milestone grants an Equipment Super Lucky Chest; its combined chance of dropping a 4-star Epic item outright is 10%.
  • Gold Crystal Shop: stocks the 4-star Lowest Blueprint Fragment Selection Chest on a weekly reset limit.
  • Black Crystal Shop (Giant’s Tower 1F Lobby): offers Etherium Ore, accessory blueprints, and materials for Giant enhancement.
  • Clan Activity: weekly milestones at 1,500 and 2,500 activity points hand out Polished Materials Selection Chests, giving 5 purple materials each week.

The Super Lucky Chest is worth prioritizing because it can skip crafting entirely. Its detail panel lists each possible piece at 1% apiece, adding up to that 10% Epic chance.

Guild and coin merchants back at Verzard Outpost round out the free supply. The Adventurers’ Alliance Guild Coin Shop, the Ancient Coin Shop, the Clan’s Ancient Coins Shop, and the Rift Shop all carry fragments and materials you can convert toward Epic crafting over time.

Craft Epic gear from upgraded materials

If drops and chests leave a slot empty, you can craft the piece. Crafting Epic gear runs on higher-tier materials that you build up from lower ones, so the work is mostly about converting minerals rather than finding rare parts.

The mineral upgrade ladder runs through four colors:

  • White — Damaged Mineral
  • Green — Intact Mineral
  • Blue — Honed Mineral
  • Purple — Polished Mineral

You feed lower tiers upward until you reach the purple grade the recipes want. Etherium Ingots are the other core material, and each one costs 5 Etherium Ore, 100 Istarium, and 5,000 Gold. The weekly Polished Materials Selection Chests from clan activity give you five purple materials a week for free, which keeps the crafting queue moving without spending in the Marketplace.

Skip the Marketplace early — prices keep falling

Buying Epic weapons or expensive crafting materials from the Marketplace early on is the easiest way to waste diamonds. As more players reach the Lv. 51+ farming zones, the supply of Slayer’s gear grows and prices slide. Tier 1 weapons that sold for 15,000–25,000 dropped to around 10,000 within a week and continued to fall.

Slayer’s Staff10,000
Slayer’s Bow11,400
Slayer’s Magic Orb13,000
Slayer’s Sword15,000

Hold your diamonds. Since Bound gear from quests and drops cannot be traded anyway, the only reason to buy is a slot you cannot fill through farming or crafting, and even then it is cheaper to wait.

Check your inventory and enhance carefully

Before you craft anything, open your inventory and see what you already own. Quests hand out weapons and armor along the way, and there is no point building a duplicate of a piece that is sitting unequipped. Prioritize the slots you are actually missing.

Once a piece is equipped, +7 is a safe stopping point for enhancement. Push to +8 only when you have a duplicate or replacement on hand, because higher enhancement carries a destruction risk. When a piece is destroyed, you receive Enhancement Destruction Compensation materials, which feed the Awakening board rather than being lost outright.

If an enhancement attempt destroys a piece, the compensation popup returns materials you can spend on Awakening. Shown at 03:33 in IceXgame’s video.

Relics run on a parallel advancement system that adds stats like Ignore Defense, Evasion, and CC Hit Chance. You raise a relic through Sacred Relic Advancement, where each attempt shows success and maintain rates and combines duplicates for higher tiers. It is a steady, separate source of power once your Epic gear is in place.

Put together, the free routes are enough to gear a Tier 1 Epic set without spending: take the Episode 9 selection chest, farm Starfall Plateau at 180,000+ CP for the slots you are missing, collect the Challenge, shop, and clan chests each week, and craft the rest from upgraded minerals and Etherium Ingots. Patience does most of the work, and it saves your diamonds for later.
