Tucked inside a corrupted apartment in Control Resonant is a static-filled television that plays a short Alan Wake recording. Interacting with it unlocks the collectible “The Master of Many Worlds,” stored under a brand-new Archives category called The Nightwatchman. It is easy to walk past, since it sits behind some light rooftop traversal early in Dylan’s route through Manhattan.

Quick answer: Head to the Evacuation Zone south of Railyard Street Station, climb to the marked apartment’s rooftop, drop down inside to the Dark Place apartment, and interact with the buzzing TV to add The Master of Many Worlds to your Archives.

Where the Alan Wake TV is located

The Easter egg is in Evacuation Zone 4, in a multilevel apartment block south to southeast of Railyard Street Station and north of the Survivor’s Apartment and Evac Building markers. At the junction near the station, take the road south; the building will be on your left.

On this stretch of road you will pass a storefront labeled “Urban Fresh.” The building you want has an entrance choked with teal-green crystalline mold, part of the Patterning that has corrupted the city. The recording you unlock is the only item filed under The Nightwatchman category (1/1), so once you grab it, that section is complete.

How to reach the corrupted apartment

There are two ways up, depending on whether you have unlocked Dylan’s Reach ability from The Subway Fault quest. Both end at the same rooftop and the same TV.

On the road south of Railyard Street Station, enter the open doorway blocked by the blue-green crystalline mold and take the interior staircase up. Keep climbing until you reach the top floor and the opening that leads out onto the rooftop terrace.

Run across the rooftop terrace and jump or glide across the street gap, heading east to land on the opposite building’s rooftop. If you have Reach, you can instead grapple straight up to the roof with the Altered Camera on it.

On this rooftop you will meet an Altered Camera that briefly freezes you in place. Wait until you regain control, then go through the open doorway the camera was guarding and head down the stairs inside.
Go down two or three floors until you spot an apartment with its door partly open, surrounded by the Dark Place’s black material. The red carpet, bloodstained walls, and nearby flickering lamp help identify it. Enter and head along the dim hallway toward the light coming through an open doorway at the far end.

If you have not finished The Subway Fault yet and lack the Reach ability, circle around to the yellow, mold-covered building, take its stairs to the roof, and make the rooftop jumps eastward to reach the same door.

Interact with the TV and confirm the unlock

A CRT television buzzes on its stand in the room, its display full of static. Move close and, when prompted, interact (Square on a PlayStation controller). The collectible is registered, and the recording starts playing on the screen.

You will know it worked when the on-screen prompt reads “The Master of Many Worlds” and “Open Menu,” and the distorted video begins. To confirm it saved, open your Archives, scroll to the end of the collection, and check The Nightwatchman tab. The entry is described as “A dreamlike glimpse of a nightwatchman and his partner on their rounds,” and you can replay it from there anytime.

What “The Master of Many Worlds” shows

The clip is a surreal, live-action segment. It opens on static and the silhouettes of two men carrying flashlights, then reveals Alan Wake, wearing an FBC patch, working the night shift as a nightwatchman. Alongside him is Alex Casey, the detective from Alan Wake 2.

Wake delivers a short monologue about not sleeping, about nightmares, and about a figure he calls “the Scratcher” whose shadow keeps finding him. He repeats fragments like “Dark,” “Scratcher,” “Howl,” and “Find more light,” before the recording is broken up by a few jump scares and a brief scene of the two men dancing. The clip then cuts back to television static and returns you to the room.

The apartment’s state, combined with Wake’s lines, points to the Dark Place growing stronger and seeping into the Patterning corrupting Manhattan. It echoes the ending of Alan Wake 2, where Wake declared himself the master of “not just two worlds, but many,” making this more than a background cameo for anyone tracking where Remedy’s connected universe is heading next.
