Control Resonant: Photo Mode Arrives in November, New Game++ in October

Remedy's first post-launch roadmap adds unlimited replay runs, a dedicated Photo Mode, and more outfits for Dylan Faden.

Remedy’s first post-launch roadmap adds unlimited replay runs, a dedicated Photo Mode, and more outfits for Dylan Faden.

Remedy has laid out the first wave of post-launch additions for Control Resonant, and two of them stand out for anyone still roaming its warped version of Manhattan. New Game++ expands how far you can push repeat runs, and a full Photo Mode finally gives the sequel the screenshot tools its first game had. Both were confirmed a day after launch alongside a promise of more cosmetics for protagonist Dylan Faden.

Quick answer: New Game++ arrives in October 2026 and Photo Mode follows in November 2026. Both are release windows, not fixed dates, and more Dylan cosmetics are planned with no date attached.

Control Resonant post-launch schedule

Remedy spelled out the plan in an official post-launch blog. Here is what is coming and roughly when.

You can read the studio’s full breakdown in its initial post-launch plans blog. The dates are still described as target months rather than locked appointments.

New Game++ removes the single-replay limit in October

At present, Control Resonant’s New Game+ offers just one additional campaign clear. Once that second playthrough ends, the finite collection of side quests and secrets is all that remains; you cannot begin another run while retaining your character.

New Game++ lifts that restriction. With the feature in place, you can complete a New Game+ playthrough and launch the next one right away without losing your accumulated progress. Cosmetics, combat abilities, and skill selections carry over each time, letting you experiment with builds and loadouts in the game’s different zones. You can also return to main and side stories to catch missed dialogue and discover alternate endings you did not see before.

Currently, New Game+ allows just one more game completion. Remedy plans an update to introduce New Game++, letting you chain NG+ playthroughs while keeping your progress intact. You could even rack up 665 runs!

Photo Mode arrives in November

Photo Mode ranked among the most requested launch features after appearing in the original Control. Remedy has confirmed it is coming to the sequel’s transformed Manhattan and Unknown Zone, with a target of November.

Remedy says development has been underway for some time, with virtual photographers from the community contributing input. The studio delayed the mode to prioritize getting the game out in its best possible condition, so the sequel launched without it despite its strong art direction.

Before the mode arrives, try this imperfect workaround: place Dylan facing a wall, then swing the camera around him. From a suitable angle, he can disappear from the frame for a cleaner shot. This trick does not work in every location.

More Dylan cosmetics and ongoing tuning

Alongside the two major features, Remedy has hinted that future updates will add more outfits for Dylan. There is no announced date or item list, so these remain plans without a schedule. Some cosmetics can already be obtained outside the main game.

  • Newsletter subscribers can receive exclusive cosmetics.
  • A “test dummy” outfit is available through a Twitch Drops campaign.

Remedy has responded to early player feedback with adjustments: a launch hotfix lowered enemy durability and eased the opening hours, while further changes and additions are planned for upcoming patches. The announcement makes no commitment to a narrative expansion or paid seasonal bundle, so the current roadmap is focused on replayability, photography, and cosmetic rewards.
