Water Sage (Founder) is the headline Tower unit from the Endless Hellflame update (Update 3) in Anime Expeditions, and it comes from exactly one place. Clear Floor 50 of Tower Season 2 and it lands in your inventory as a stage reward. It leans on a self-buffing clone system rather than a single big hit, which is what makes its numbers look modest at first and then climb during a fight.

Quick answer: Water Sage (Founder) is a limited Hydro unit awarded for defeating Floor 50 (Crimson Shore) in Tower Season 2. It has a placement limit of 3, four passives, and no evolution yet.

What Water Sage (Founder) is

Water Sage (Founder) is an exclusive, limited unit tied to the Tower game mode. Its element is Hydro and it deals Physical damage. You can field up to three copies at once thanks to a placement limit of 3, and each copy runs its own clone and trap logic.

The unit is labelled a Traitless Tower Season 2 Leaderboard Reward, so it is meant as a marker of clearing the season’s toughest posted floor rather than a banner pull. Because it is limited, it is only obtainable while that Season 2 Floor 50 reward is active.

How Floor 50 awards the unit

The drop is tied to Floor 50 of the Tower, set on the Crimson Shore map. The floor runs 15 waves, and the stage caps off with the Abomination boss on Wave 15. Clearing that wave triggers the victory screen and hands over the unit automatically.

The Stage Info panel for the floor confirms the Crimson Shore rewards and the enemy resistances you are up against, which matters because Tower floors roll random resistances. Checking it before committing tells you which damage types will be blunted on that run.

The Abomination boss is the gate to the reward. It appears on the final wave and needs to be burned down before the timer or your defenses give out.

On victory, Water Sage (Founder) arrives alongside the rest of the floor’s payout. You know it worked when the clear screen shows the unit in the reward list with its supporting materials.

Stats at level 1, level 50, and max upgrade

The unit arrives at Level 1 and can be fed EXP items up to Level 50. Raw levelling mostly lifts its base damage; the big jump comes from in-match upgrades, which peak at Upgrade 9. The figures below are the baseline before its clones start stacking buffs.

Upgrade 9 (maxed)6,725–8,74310.9s23.7

At full upgrade with an SSS SPA stat roll, damage opens at 6,725 and climbs to 8,743 as Mirror Clones appear on the map, while range widens from 23.7 as those clones stack. DPS moves in step, ranging from 616 up toward 802 once the unit is fully ramped. In other words, its listed numbers understate what it does mid-fight.

Stat potential can be re-rolled at the reroll station, which is where the SSS SPA and SS-rank multipliers on the showcase came from. Locking a desired stat and rerolling the rest is the way to chase those top-rank rolls.

The four passives

Every part of this unit’s kit chains off follow-up attacks and clones. The passives feed each other, so they read cleaner as a group than in isolation.

Creator of Mirror Clones

Every 15 seconds the unit spawns a Mirror Clone inside its range, up to three at a time. Each clone carries 10% of the unit’s current damage and disappears after three attacks. For every clone active on the map, the main unit gains +10% damage and +10% range, so a full trio adds up to +30% damage and +30% range.

Thunder God

The unit and each of its clones always tack on a follow-up attack, and those follow-ups deal 120% of the unit’s current damage. This passive is the engine that drives the other two, because the rest of the kit counts follow-up hits.

Flash Mastery

The unit builds Storm Flash charges, starting at 0 and capped at 3. Every five follow-up attacks from the unit or a clone add one charge. When the closest allied unit in range gets stunned, one charge is consumed to cleanse the stun, giving the team a passive counter to crowd control.

Bomb Tags Master

Whenever a follow-up attack lands in range, a Bomb Tag is placed where the enemy was hit, up to five at once. Each tag acts as a path trap. Enemies that hit one take 25% of the unit’s current damage, and each trigger also cuts the unit’s SPA by 1%, up to a 5% cap that speeds up its attacks over time.

Evolution and update context

Water Sage (Founder) has no evolution available right now. The Evolve station shows no upgrade path for it, so the version you earn from Floor 50 is the final form for the moment.

The unit is one of six added in the Endless Hellflame update, which released on September 25, 2026, alongside Crimson Captain (Moon), Devil (Hero), Fallen Angel (Holy), Ignition Commander (Betrayal), and Wild Card (Ace). That same update brought the Boss Rush mode, the Infernal Hunt event, and new Infernal enemies that stun placed units. Among those additions, Water Sage (Founder) is the one gated behind reaching the top of Tower Season 2, which is why its numbers and clone stacking draw the most attention.
