The Warlock trainers for Horde players in Orgrimmar are hidden below the city streets, inside the shadowy underground district known as the Cleft of Shadow. This is where you learn new Warlock spells and upgrade the ranks of abilities you already own as your character levels.

The trainers gather around a large tent on the east side of the cavern marked Darkfire Enclave, set just below road level. The Demon Trainer, Kurgul, waits right outside the same tent.

How to reach the Cleft of Shadow

The Cleft of Shadow sits underground, so you reach it through tunnel entrances rather than by walking across the surface. There are two ways in, and both lead to the same cavern.

Find a tunnel opening in The Drag. Another option is the passage linking the Valley of Wisdom with the Valley of Strength; either route works.

Pass through the cavern mouth and descend along the purple-hued, sloping passage. The zone banner displays “Cleft of Shadow” when you enter the district.

Follow the ramp and bridge down onto the main cavern floor. You will pass glowing purple crystals and city guards as you go.

Turn toward the northeast alcove, then go to the tent at Darkfire Enclave. Talk to Mirket or Grol’dar for Warlock spell training and upgrades.

Confirm you found the right trainer

You know you have the correct NPC when the overhead name plate reads <Warlock Trainer> under Mirket or Grol’dar. Right-clicking either one opens the training window, which lists the spells and ranks available for your level along with their cost. If you talk to Kurgul instead, his window shows demon services rather than spell training, since his plate reads <Demon Trainer>.
