The centerpiece of this Palworld 1.0 session is a focused breeding project: turning a rare passive skill fished out of the ocean into a purpose-built Yakumo. The “Demon God” trait shows up on wild-caught fish Pals, and the run maps out a breeding path that carries that trait into a stronger species instead of leaving it on a weak one.

Quick answer: Kelpsea bred with Vanwyrm produces Yakumo, so a Kelpsea carrying the Demon God passive can pass that trait down to a far more useful offspring.

Why Demon God is the target passive

Demon God is a top-tier combat passive that raises a Pal’s attack by 30% along with a small defense boost. That kind of attack multiplier is exactly what a combat carry wants, but its value depends entirely on the species it sits on. A Level 1 Pengullet with Demon God is a curiosity; the same trait on a strong offspring is a build.

Passive skills in Palworld are inherited during breeding, so a trait can be moved from a throwaway Pal onto a better one over successive hatches. The whole plan here rests on that mechanic: capture the trait cheaply, then breed it upward.

Fishing up Demon God carriers

The Demon God carriers all come from fishing. Beach and coastal fishing spots produce Pals with rolled passives, and across several casts the run pulls up multiple candidates with the trait attached. The first is a Level 1 Pengullet caught along the shore.

A Pengullet is too weak to build around, so fishing continues for a species that fits a viable breeding path. A Level 18 Kelpsea comes up next with Demon God, and later casts land a Level 24 Surfent carrying it as well.

The Kelpsea is the important catch. It holds the trait and sits on a breeding path to something worth keeping.

The Kelpsea and Vanwyrm path to Yakumo

Because most Pals cross-breed into a species determined by a hidden breeding rank, working out which pairing yields a specific offspring is easier with a calculator. A breeding path tool is opened in a browser to trace routes to Yakumo.

The calculator confirms the pairing: Kelpsea plus Vanwyrm produces Yakumo. With a Demon God Kelpsea already in hand and a Vanwyrm caught in the Frostbound Mountains region, both parents are ready. Since passives roll down from the parents, the goal is a Yakumo that inherits Demon God from its Kelpsea parent.

Feeding the breeding farm with Vegetable Cake

Breeding begins only after you put a cake in the chest at the Breeding Farm’s front, and each breeding attempt uses one cake. This setup calls for Vegetable Cake, so establish its supply chain before the parent Pals can breed.

An Electric Kitchen is constructed at the main base for this, built from Refined Ingot, Circuit Boards, Charcoal, and Flame Organs. Missing food ingredients such as eggs, tomatoes, and lettuce are bought from Wandering Merchants at settlements to keep the kitchen baking. A new Breeding Farm pen replaces the old incubator setup, and the Kelpsea and Vanwyrm are assigned to it with a Vegetable Cake stocked to begin producing eggs.

The two parents must be opposite genders for the farm to start, so the Demon God carrier and its partner have to line up as one male and one female.

Where the Yakumo project sits in the wider run

The breeding plan runs alongside a broader push toward full completion. The session captures alpha bosses including Mossanda Lux, Wumpo Botan, and a Level 40 Sibelx, clears a Bellanoir raid at the Summoning Altar, and unlocks fast travel points across Eastern Wild Island and the Frostbound Mountains.

A separate economy setup uses a Pal Surgery Table, crafted with Refined Ingot, High Quality Cloth, and Corrosive Solvent. It lets you give money-farming Pals the “Fine Furs” passive, raising the prices merchants pay for them. Research and craft Ability Glasses to reveal hidden Individual Values, which helps you decide which hatchlings to keep. Like the Kelpsea and Vanwyrm pairing, these systems work toward producing Pals stronger than any found wild.
