EA FC 27: Best Striker (ST) Build for Clubs and The Grounds

The Finisher archetype, ideal height and weight, and the PlayStyles and attributes that turn your Virtual Pro into a constant goal threat.

The Finisher archetype, ideal height and weight, and the PlayStyles and attributes that turn your Virtual Pro into a constant goal threat.

A striker in EA FC 27 lives or dies by two things: getting into good positions and burying the chance once it arrives. The build that does both most reliably in Clubs and The Grounds is a nimble Finisher, tuned for pace and low, hard finishing rather than aerial power. It stays quick on the turn inside a crowded box while keeping enough presence to hold defenders off.

Quick answer: Pick the Finisher archetype, stay under 6 feet at around 160 lbs, equip Low Driven Shot+ with pace PlayStyles, and prioritise a 5-star Weak Foot.

Lock in the archetype and physical traits before you spend a single skill point. Here is the full setup to copy.

WeightAround 160 lbs
PlayStyle+Low Driven Shot+
PlayStylesQuick Step, Rapid, First Touch
Skill Moves4 stars

This combination makes your player agile, fast on through balls, and comfortable shooting from either foot. It works the same whether you are grinding Clubs matches or dropping into the smaller-sided games inside The Grounds.

Finisher or Target: which archetype to pick

Two archetypes stand out for the number nine role, and the choice comes down to the kind of forward you want to be. Headers are more consistent this year, which makes a tall, physical striker genuinely viable, but the well-rounded option is still the safer pick for most players.

TargetCrosses, aerial duels, hold-up play6’3″ and abovePrecision Header+

Finisher is the more balanced and, for most setups, the stronger choice. You get sharp acceleration, clean movement in the area, and a finishing trait that beats keepers on the ground. Precision Header simply is not as reliable as a hard low shot, and a shorter build stays far less clunky when you are twisting between center backs.

Target suits a bully forward who feeds on crosses and wins aerial battles. If you go that route, build taller and pour more points into physicality over passing. Otherwise, Finisher is the default.

Height and weight for a Finisher

A height of 5’10” is the sweet spot. It keeps your center of gravity low, which makes left-stick dribbling smoother in tight spaces near the goal. Staying between 5’10” and 6’0″ gives you agility without feeling small in a duel.

Weight around 160 lbs keeps the player from ever feeling sluggish. You hold onto enough strength to shield the ball, but you never trade away the acceleration that lets you break onto through balls first.

Pairing a 5-star Weak Foot with 4-star Skill Moves is essentially a must. When an opening appears, the high weak-foot rating enables accurate shots from every angle, with no need to reposition the ball onto the stronger foot.

PlayStyles that matter most

PlayStyles remain a major part of how the game feels, and a striker only needs a small, focused set.

  • Low Driven Shot+ — the signature trait. Hard, low shots along the ground consistently give keepers trouble inside the box.
  • Quick Step and Rapid — the pace pairing that lets you run past center backs when a through ball is played.
  • First Touch — keeps the ball glued to your feet when receiving fast passes or lofted balls from midfield.

Attribute upgrade order

Skill points are limited, so spend them in the order that wins you games. Fund your scoring and pace first, then round out the touch and mental stats.

Max Finishing and Sprint Speed before anything else. Pace is the deciding stat for a striker, and if you can’t finish, you’ll spend the season on the bench.
Once your shooting and pace are maxed, move to Ball Control, Dribbling, and Composure. Composure is the quiet game-winner here, since it stops you from skying easy chances under pressure.
Top up the supporting stats as points allow: Shot Power, Volleys, Vision, Short Passing, Curve, Acceleration, Reactions, Penalties, and Jumping.

Follow this setup and you get a striker who arrives in the box first, keeps the ball under control, and finishes low and hard when it counts, which is exactly what wins matches in Clubs and The Grounds.
