Slayers 2: How to Get Water Breathing from Urokodaki

Water Breathing is one of the deeper Breathing Styles to chase in Slayers 2, mostly because the resource cost and the hidden trainer location ask more of you than the early styles do. Flame Breathing, by comparison, only needs 10 Demon Horns. Water Breathing triples that requirement and buries its teacher behind an underwater passage.

Quick answer: Reach Level 25, carry 5,000 Wen and 30 Demon Horns, then swim to Urokodaki near Bamboo Grove and finish all six training tasks to unlock the base style in your Skill Tree.

Water Breathing requirements in Slayers 2

Before Urokodaki will start your training, you need to meet three checks. Gather everything in advance so you are not forced to leave the hidden room and swim back later.

RequirementAmountHow to get it
Level25Complete quests and defeat enemies
Wen5,000Earn from quests and combat
Demon Horns30Collect 30 Demon Horns by defeating Hoyuzo Subordinates or the Hoyuzo Boss.

Level 25 is only the floor. If you plan to clear the training and the final fight on your own, aim for Level 45 or higher. Players below that will have a much easier time bringing a second person along for the boss.

For the horns, Hoyuzo Subordinates have a 30% chance to drop 1 Demon Horn each, while the Hoyuzo Boss has a 50% chance to drop 3 at once. Running the boss is the faster route if you can handle it.

Where to find Urokodaki, the Water Breathing trainer

Urokodaki does not stand out in the open like some other trainers. He sits inside a hidden room reached through a submerged tunnel near Bamboo Grove, so you need to find the water opening before anything else matters.

Travel to Bamboo Grove and locate the small house in the area. Setting your spawn point at the nearby crystal is worth doing, since the next part can drown you.

Circle around the house’s right side and scan the water’s edge for a small gap partly hidden by a bush.
Dive into the opening and swim forward through the underwater passage. Keep an eye on your oxygen gauge and do not take detours.
Take the tunnel to its far end, climb the ladder, and emerge inside the wooden room. Speak with Urokodaki and select the option that teaches Water Breathing.

You will drown if your oxygen runs out before you get to the other side. Swim directly through the passage instead of exploring it.

The six Water Breathing training tasks

Once you hand over the materials, the Water Breathing Training tracker unlocks six objectives that must be done in order. Each one has to register before the next becomes available. Several of the middle tasks are based in or around the Butterfly Estate, so check your map for the markers.

1. Parkour Dungeon

The first task sends you through an obstacle course made of six sections. You get three lives, and falling or dying costs one each time, so control your jumps instead of rushing. Reach the end to clear it.

2. Push ups

Head to the marked training mat and interact with it. Button prompts appear on screen, and you press the correct inputs as they show up until the progress bar fills to 100%.

3. Boulder Push

Use the marked boulder and move it along the route indicated by the white arrow. Keep it heading for the goal without taking needless turns. The task ends when the boulder arrives at its endpoint.

4. Aim Training

Head to the target range and start the exercise. Hit the targets as they appear and keep going until progress reaches 100%. This is one of the simpler tasks.

5. Underwater Rocks

For this objective, return to the water near Bamboo Grove and gather five glowing rocks spread across the lake. Make brief dives, surfacing to restore oxygen before going back for another rock, until the tracker shows 5/5. This completes the step, but the style will not unlock from this alone.

6. Defeat the Water Trainee

The final task is a fight against Water Trainee Sabito. His AoE attacks hit hard and can end the fight quickly if you stand in them, so keep your distance and step out of his attack range when needed. Bring a working weapon, and consider a partner if you are near the minimum level.

How to confirm Water Breathing unlocked

After the Water Trainee goes down and all six tasks register, the base Water Breathing style becomes available. Open the Skill Tree and check the Water branch. The Water Breathing node should now be selectable there.

Completing the training only grants the base style, not the full moveset. Individual techniques still require their own Skill Tree investment as you build the style up. If the Water branch is not showing after you hit 5/5 on the rocks, check the tracker, since its final marker may still be pointing you toward Sabito.
