Saving Mardi Gras is the first campaign mission in Transport Fever 3, set in New Orleans in 1906. A storm has flooded the roads, scattered wildlife, and threatened the Mardi Gras festival, and Mayor Beau Lafontaine hands you his assistant Andrew to clean up the mess. The mission runs as a mostly fixed sequence that teaches demolition, road and track building, cargo lines, boats, and passenger routes one task at a time.
Quick answer: Complete the objectives in order — find 5 alligators, clear the road, deliver 6 wood, supply shrimp, repair the rail bridge, extend the bus line, then run the parade. Finishing all stated tasks cleanly earns three stars.

Objective order for Saving Mardi Gras
Each task only appears after you finish the one before it, so building far ahead rarely helps. Follow this sequence from start to finish.
Find all 5 alligators at the logging camp and release them.
Use the bulldozer to clear the fallen trees, then repair the road damaged by the washout.
Build a road depot and deliver 6 wood to the hotel site.
Build a warehouse at the port and buy a fishing boat.
Build a station and deliver shrimp to the hotel.
Repair the Mississippi rail bridge and start the train.
Extend the bus line to Lakeshore, then run the parade.
Clear the storm damage
The first jobs are location and demolition tasks. There is no transport to plan yet, so you are mostly learning camera control and the bulldozer.
Zoom in on the yellow-highlighted New Orleans Logging Camp and click each of the five alligators. A large yellow arrow marks every target. Look along the roadway by the gate, among the trees, beside a shack, near the logs, and within the camp. Once you’ve clicked the final alligator, select the “Release the alligators” prompt. Finish quickly to earn the special award.
At the bottom of the screen, open construction and choose the bulldozer. Clear the dirt road just south of the logging camp by clicking all six fallen logs blocking it.
Choose the road-building tool, pick the Small Country Road, and draw it between the two yellow circles to reconnect the missing section. This reopens the link to the rest of the map.

Supply wood to the hotel
The mayor now wants a luxury hotel built in the French Quarter, which needs a steady wood supply before construction can start.
Find the road depot in the construction menu and build it in the marked area near the logging camp. Open the depot, select “Manage Vehicles,” then purchase a Horse Carriage.
In the line manager, create a route from the logging camp to the hotel construction site in the French Quarter. The wagon is purchased at the depot, but the line begins at the camp.
Assign the Horse Carriage to the new line. It leaves the depot, collects wood, and hauls it to the site. Increase the game speed to move the 6 wood faster. Once the hotel registers the delivery, delete the wood line so the wagon stops looping.

Rebuild the port and deliver shrimp
The storm swept away the fishermen’s warehouse and boats, so you rebuild the port before carrying seafood to the hotel’s kitchen.
At the New Orleans Ship Depot, open “Manage Vehicles” and purchase the Sydfart cargo boat. Set up a ship line to the Terrytown Shrimp Farm. Either direction works: upstream carries fish, while downstream carries shrimp.
Place a Universal Cargo Station beside the warehouse. In the line manager, configure a road line from the station to the hotel’s stop on Woodland Street.
Return to the road depot, buy another Horse Carriage, and assign it to the warehouse-to-hotel line. This creates a self-sustaining chain that carries shrimp to the French Quarter Hotel.

Reconnect rail, buses, and the parade
With supplies flowing, the final stretch brings tourists and performers into the city for the festival.
Travel to the collapsed rail bridge over the Mississippi, highlighted in yellow. Select the track-building tool and connect the two broken track ends to rebuild the trestle.
Open the line manager and select the New Orleans Bus Line. Add a stop in the highlighted Lakeshore zone so the stranded musicians get picked up. The objective completes once passengers actually move, not just when the stop is placed.
Create a final line starting at City Park with a waypoint along Canal Street. Open the road depot beside the French Quarter Hotel, select the Mardi Gras Parade Floats, and send them to the new line.

How to confirm the mission is complete
When the parade floats begin moving along Canal Street, the closing cinematic starts, followed by the mission-completed screen. That screen shows the completed objectives and awards up to three stars, then unlocks Mission 2. The star goals are saving Mardi Gras, giving New Orleans a little more help, and giving it a lot more help; quickly subduing the alligators earns a separate award. Complete the listed tasks cleanly to earn all three stars; there’s no need to build an extensive free-play network across New Orleans.
