High Commander Lagta is a level 48 Hero field boss in AION 2, a Cogni-type enemy that guards two separate zones. Every kill hands out a full loot chest, plus a chance at a nine-piece Unique gear set and a stack of crafting stones.
Quick answer: Hunt High Commander Lagta in Drana Plantation (Verteron) or Lagta Fortress (Altgard). Each kill drops Lagta’s Loot Chest (Bound) at 100%, with the rest of the table rolling individually.
Where to find High Commander Lagta
Two versions of the boss exist, and they share an identical drop table. The Verteron version carries the title Verteron Inspector and stands in Drana Plantation, in the blood-red water north-west of the Laborer’s Rest Stop Kibelisk. The Altgard version carries the title Altgard Overseer and holds Lagta Fortress. Both are level 48 and ranked Hero.
The boss is aggressive and will attack on sight, and it can drag nearby mobs into the fight. A full party is the sensible way in. Most of its damage lands in the arc in front of it, including its dash, sword combos, and the fan-shaped Wave Sweep whose purple wave travels far, so staying to the side or behind it avoids the bulk of the pressure. When it throws two quick swings (Double Sweep), a heavy hit usually follows, so hold your dodge for that.
High Commander Lagta drop table and rates
Every drop rolls on its own, so a single kill can yield several items at once. The loot chest is guaranteed; everything else is a per-kill chance.

 Lagta’s Loot Chest (Bound) | Special | 100% |
 Refining Stone | Common | 46.7% |

The breastplate is the rarest piece at 6.4%, so if you are chasing the full set, plan on repeat kills for the chest slot long after the lighter armor has filled in.
The High Commander Lagta gear set
All nine equipment drops are Unique, item level 46, tier 2 gear. Each piece needs character level 40 to wear, carries 4 manastone slots, and enchants up to +15. The seven armor pieces lean entirely into Defense and HP; the two accessories add Attack on top.
| Piece | Slot | Defense | HP / Attack |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lagta Breastplate | Top | 337 | HP 184 |
| Lagta Greaves | Legs | 281 | HP 138 |
| Lagta Helm | Helm | 253 | HP 115 |
| Lagta Pauldrons | Pauldrons | 253 | HP 115 |
| Lagta Gloves | Gloves | 225 | HP 92 |
| Lagta Boots | Shoes | 225 | HP 92 |
| Lagta Cloak | Cloak | 225 | HP 92 |
| Lagta Earrings | Earrings | 141 | Attack 59 |
| Lagta Ring | Ring | 112 | Attack 47 |
These are strong defensive pieces for their tier, though not the top of their slots. The breastplate’s Defense of 337 is the 9th highest among 147 Top items, where the ceiling is 756 on the Splendent Ebony Dragon Lord Breastplate and Splendent Wise Dragon Lord Breastplate. The greaves, helm, pauldrons, gloves, boots, cloak, earrings, and ring each sit 10th in their own slot, trailing the Splendent Ebony and Splendent Wise Dragon Lord versions that lead every one of those lists.
Each armor piece enchants for +130 Defense and +108 HP at +10, rising to +199 Defense and +163 HP at +15. The accessories scale differently, adding Attack and Defense instead, reaching +23 Attack and +62 Defense at +10. Every piece can be traded until it is soulbound.
Refining stones and crafting materials
Outside the gear, the boss is a steady source of crafting stones. The three Refining Stones are materials used in crafting and can be traded freely on the broker.
- Refining Stone (Common) — 46.7% drop, requires level 15, sells for 16 kina.
- Expert’s Refining Stone (Rare) — 11.7% drop, requires level 25, sells for 160 kina.
- Artisan’s Refining Stone (Epic) — 5.8% drop, requires level 35, sells for 1,600 kina.
The boss also drops Lesser Manastone, a Common usable that engraves onto a manastone slot in any weapon or armor to add a stat rolled at random.
Achievement and confirming the kill
Defeating the field boss completes the High Commander Lagta achievement. The reward is the title Executioner of High Commander Lagta, a Superior Manastone (Bound), and 7,000 Kina (Bound). You will know the fight worked when the boss dies and Lagta’s Loot Chest (Bound) lands in your inventory, since that chest drops on every kill without fail. The achievement and title register at the same moment, and the Artwork: High Commander Lagta decor rolls separately at a 25% chance for your pantheon.
