Idun’s Lake in the Altgard region holds 11 Empyrean Traces and a single sealed dungeon, and almost everything sits beneath the water. Clearing the lake counts toward your Altgard trace collection, so each pickup hands you an Empyrean Trace: Altgard (Bound) token to resonate later at the region’s Monolith.

Quick answer: Traces 1 through 10 are all underwater across the lake’s central, southern, and eastern sections, while Trace 11 sits on a cliff ledge on the northern shore that you reach by gliding.

Before you dive in

Idun’s Lake is tuned for a recommended character level of 20. Because ten of the eleven traces rest in submerged caverns and along underwater ledges, you will spend most of the run swimming through rock channels and diving down drop-offs. Keep an eye on hostile mobs that patrol the water, mainly Lake Skyrays and Pipeties, which can interrupt you mid-pickup.

The last trace needs flight instead of swimming, so make sure your wings are ready for a short glide to the northern cliff.

Traces 1–4: central lake

Start at the main body of Idun’s Lake and dive straight down. The first four traces form a descending chain along the central rock wall, so you can grab them in one continuous dive without resurfacing.

Trace 1 sits on a submerged rock shelf just below the surface. Drop onto the shelf and interact to pick it up.

Trace 2 is deeper, down the rocky drop-off below Trace 1. Follow the wall as it falls away and collect the trace resting against it.

Trace 3 is tucked inside an underwater crevice. Swim into the gap in the rock and interact to clear it.

Trace 4 sits further along the same cavern trench. Move through the channel until the interaction prompt appears beside the glowing trace.

Traces 5–8: southern lake

Head to the southern stretch of Idun’s Lake for the next four. These are spread across trenches, a canyon opening, and a raised rock outcrop, so expect a mix of diving and climbing.

Trace 5 sits in a rocky trench in the southern water. Dive in and gather it from the trench floor.

Trace 6 sits by a canyon opening nearby. Swim through the gap in the canyon wall and the pickup notification will confirm the grab.

Trace 7 rests along a submerged ridge. Swim the length of the ridge and interact with the trace sitting against it.

Trace 8 is on a rock outcrop that rises out of the lakebed. Swim up the outcrop and harvest the trace at the top.

Traces 9–10: eastern cove

Move to the eastern cove of Idun’s Lake for the next pair. Both are underwater, and one is guarded.

Trace 9 sits on a ledge set into an underwater wall. Dive into the cove and activate it on the wall ledge.

Trace 10 is close by, but an aggressive Lake Skyray patrols the spot. Deal with the mob first, then gather the trace once the area is clear.

Clear the Lake Skyray before you reach for Trace 10, since taking damage mid-interaction will cancel the pickup.

Trace 11: northern cliff

The final trace is the only one above water. It sits on an elevated cliff ledge along the northern shoreline. Rather than swim, glide across the water and land on the ledge to loot it. With that done, all 11 traces for Idun’s Lake are complete.

Pirate’s Treasure Storage sealed dungeon

Idun’s Lake also hides one sealed dungeon, Pirate’s Treasure Storage. The entrance is submerged in an underwater cave opening beneath the lake. Dive into the cavern to find the Pirate’s Treasure Storage Entrance portal, which triggers the “Sealed Dungeon discovered” prompt.

Inside, you will fight through Treasure Storage Sentries and Treasure Storage Guards before reaching the boss, Custodian Chakkorran. Defeating Chakkorran clears the dungeon and hands over the completion rewards.

How to confirm each pickup

Every trace you grab returns the on-screen line “Acquired Empyrean Trace: Altgard (Bound)” and adds one token to your inventory. When all eleven have registered, Idun’s Lake is cleared, and the sealed dungeon shows “Sealed Dungeon Complete” once Custodian Chakkorran falls. Take your Empyrean Trace: Altgard (Bound) tokens to the Altgard Monolith to resonate them for the region-wide stat increase.
