Mahindel Cliff, a seaside spot in the Asmodian zone of Altgard, holds three Empyrean Traces. These are the red, glowing crystals the community calls feathers, and sweeping all three in one pass takes only a couple of minutes once you know the corners of the camp to check.

Trace 1 of 3 — beside the watchtower
Start at the main settlement. The first crystal rests on a rocky outcrop right next to the wooden, wind-sail watchtower structure that marks the camp. Run up to the rocks, step onto the red glow, and press F to pick it up.
Trace 2 of 3 — the western cliffs
Head to the western side of the zone, where the land drops off toward the water. Follow the cliff edge through the flower patches until you reach the second crystal sitting on the grass, right above the ocean.
Trace 3 of 3 — south of the camp
Move south of the encampment and follow the grassy ridge that looks out over the sea and the floating balloons. The last crystal sits on that overlook. Step onto it and press F to finish the set.
How to know each pickup worked
Each crystal shows a blue glow overhead and an “F Interact” prompt when you are close enough. After you press F, the screen confirms the pickup with an “Acquired Empyrean Trace: Altgard (Bound)” message, and some pickups also grant a Laura Trace: Altgard (Bound). If you see that line, the trace is in your inventory and that marker is cleared.
Altgard is the Asmodian map, so every trace here is tied to the Asmodian token. Elyos players gather Empyrean Trace: Verteron on their own side instead.
What the traces are for
Collecting a trace is only the first half. The rewards apply once you resonate the batch at the zone Monolith, which pays out Wisdom Stones for permanent skill points, Amulet Enhance Scrolls for your amulet slot, and Monolith levels that grant permanent stat gains. Until you resonate them, the crystals just sit as bound tokens in your bag.
Mahindel Cliff’s three traces are a small slice of Altgard, which holds 560 Empyrean Traces in total. Clear the whole camp in one loop before you fly off, then carry on to the next area and resonate everything at the Monolith together.
Empyrean Trace Totals and Express Vouchers by Region
Mahindel Cliff’s three traces count toward the Altgard total, and each region has its own bound trace item and Monolith. Every trace item is Special grade, requires level 1, and cannot be traded.

Eltnen and Morheim belong to the Chapter 1 update (levels 45 to 50). It is live in Korea and Taiwan and was not in the global version as of October 2026.
Reshanta traces use a separate item, Empyrean Trace: Reshanta (Bound), which resonates at Ereshkigal’s Monolith. Eltnen’s trace resonates at Yustiel’s Monolith and Morheim’s at Morheim’s Monolith.
Altgard Monolith Express Voucher (Bound)
If you would rather skip the walking, the Altgard Monolith Express Voucher (Bound) instantly collects all Empyrean Traces in Altgard. It collects only the traces you have not yet picked up, and it has no effect if every trace in the region is already obtained. The voucher is Special grade, requires level 1, stacks to 1,000, and cannot be traded. Vouchers also exist for Verteron, Lower Reshanta and Middle Reshanta.
Related achievement
The Mahindel Cliff achievement is a Common-grade Asmodian achievement in the Bind group. Its objective is to activate the Mahindel Cliff Kibelisk, and it rewards 3,000 Kina.
