Digital Sun’s castle-defense roguelite locks a Steam launch date, with playtest sign-ups already open.

ReVamp is a castle-defense roguelite from Digital Sun, the studio behind Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault and Cataclismo. You play a vampire lord bound to protect his throne against endless waves of mortal invaders, building up his castle room by room and stepping into the fight directly when the defenses buckle. The game now has a firm launch date and a playtest you can join before release.

Quick answer: ReVamp launches March 25, 2027 on PC via Steam. Playtest sign-ups are open now; no specific launch time or time zone has been confirmed.

Release date and platform

The release is confirmed for March 25, 2027. At launch the game is coming to PC through Steam. No console versions have been announced, and no exact unlock time has been shared beyond the calendar date.

A public playtest is running ahead of launch, and sign-ups are live on the game’s Steam page. Registering there also lets you wishlist the game so you are notified when it goes live.

What ReVamp is

You rule as a vampire lord who serves a lunar entity he refers to only as his master. The loop mixes several systems that feed into one another: you lay out a castle, summon a legion of creatures using cards, grow your powers along a skill tree, and then defend against heroes storming your halls across multiple floors in real time.

When your minions cannot hold the line, you take direct control of the lord. He fights with melee attacks and blood magic, including a wide horizontal beam that can sweep across an entire row of shielded soldiers.

Castle building and combat

Castles are assembled from modular rooms that snap onto a central tower, both vertically and horizontally. Placement runs on a grid, with red and cyan outlines marking where a room can go. Specialized chambers include the Menagerie, the Architectum, and the Treasury, alongside defenses and crafting rooms.

Defense plays out as side-scrolling, multi-level tactical combat. Summoned monsters, werewolves, and skeletons clash with marching human soldiers across stacked ledges, with damage numbers popping over each hit and aiming reticles marking abilities.

Minions and progression

Units are summoned through card profiles and managed from a Minion inventory grid, with the Blood Oblation menu used to select which creatures to deploy. Many units carry passive abilities that depend on where they are placed or which other units share their room.

Character growth runs through the Astral Chart, a web of interconnected skill and progression nodes you unlock as you play. Because many creature bonuses scale with room composition or floor height, how you stack your castle feeds directly into how strong your defenders become.

What to expect before launch

With the playtest already running, the period before the March 25, 2027 release is your window to try the core loop early. The build on show pairs animated story cinematics with the room-building, card summoning, Astral Chart progression, and layered defense combat that make up the full game. If you want in, wishlisting and signing up for the playtest on Steam is the only step required.
