Mintrocket is closing out Dave the Diver with a crossover expansion built around Subnautica 2. Revealed during the Triple-i Initiative October Showcase on October 8, the Subnautica 2 Content Pack drops the alien oceans of Unknown Worlds Entertainment’s survival game into Dave’s Blue Hole and is billed outright as the final DLC for the game.
Quick answer: The crossover is free for all Dave the Diver owners and launches in early 2027 across PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
What the Subnautica 2 crossover adds
Dave and Bancho make an interdimensional trip to Proteus, the ocean moon in Subnautica 2. A glowing purple portal brings them into its alien waters, where they explore as a team and collect unfamiliar ingredients for new dishes at the restaurant.

Alongside the exploration, the pack brings in new characters who need Dave and Bancho’s help, plus the marine creatures and resources tied to the Subnautica setting. Leviathans, the giant creatures the series is known for, show up periodically across the expansion, including a tense encounter with an enormous bioluminescent beast in the deep.

Gameplay stays in the familiar 2D side-on diving format. Trailer footage shows Dave moving through an alien coral reef biome full of strange fish, glowing structures, and unfamiliar flora before descending into the abyss for the leviathan standoff.

Why Mintrocket is calling it the final DLC
Mintrocket has framed the collaboration as a deliberate send-off. Studio Director Jaeho Hwang said the team wanted the last expansion to feel meaningful, and that a Subnautica tie-in was something players had been requesting for a long time.
Since both titles take place underwater, Subnautica’s distinctive style of ocean exploration made teaming up with the Subnautica 2 developers a chance to give Dave the Diver a new feel. We’re eager for players to experience what we’ve created, and hope this team-up offers another unexpected adventure for Dave and his friends, both familiar and new.
Anthony Gallegos, creative director on Subnautica 2, described the pack as a love letter to both games and the wider Subnautica universe. The two studios sit under the same corporate umbrella, with Mintrocket and Unknown Worlds both tied to Nexon and Krafton, which makes the pairing a natural cross-promotion for two ocean-themed series.
Where this fits in Dave the Diver’s crossover run
This is far from the game’s first guest appearance. Dave the Diver has already run crossovers with Godzilla, Dredge, and the Like a Dragon series, the last of which arrived as the Ichiban’s Holiday Content Pack. The In the Jungle DLC landed earlier in the year, making the Subnautica 2 pack the capstone on that string of updates.
The game has been a sustained success since its early access launch in October 2022, pairing deep-sea diving with sushi restaurant management. It passed 5 million sales in 2024 and has since crossed 10 million copies worldwide, a scale that puts a free final expansion in front of a very large audience.
With the crossover marked as the end of the game’s DLC line, the Subnautica 2 Content Pack is shaping up as the last major content drop Dave gets. Everything points to an early 2027 arrival, free, on every platform the game already lives on.
