The Oil glove is a recent addition to Slap Battles, the Roblox arena game built around knocking other players off the map with gloves that each carry a unique power. Oil fits into the slap-costing tier, meaning you buy it outright with your lifetime slap count rather than hunting a badge for it. What sets it apart is a two-part kit that lets you paint the ground with oil and then set it alight.

Quick answer: Oil unlocks at 17,716 slaps with no badge required. It has 52 Power and 16 Speed, and runs two abilities — Oil Spill (R) lays a trail, Warning: Flammable! (E) ignites it.

Oil glove stats and unlock requirement

Oil sits on one of the pedestals along the glove walkway in the lobby, alongside the rest of the slap-costing gloves. Its stand displays the full stat card and the slap total you need before you can equip it.

Because it is slap-gated rather than badge-gated, there is no event or challenge to clear. Your cumulative slap count simply needs to reach 17,716, at which point the pedestal lets you claim it.

How Oil Spill and Warning: Flammable! work together

The glove’s two abilities are designed to be used as a pair rather than on their own.

  • Oil Spill (R) — while you move, it paints the ground with a dark purple-to-black oil streak.
  • Warning: Flammable! (E) — fires a flaming projectile that ignites any oil it touches.

The sequence is simple in practice. You run across the arena with Oil Spill active to lay down a path, then throw a fireball with Warning: Flammable! to light it. The lit oil turns into blazing walls of fire that slap and damage any opponent who crosses them, which makes the glove most effective when you fence off chokepoints or ring an opponent before setting the trail alight.

Map changes and the Halloween update

Oil arrived alongside a reworked theme and map, with floating islands and a darker look to the arena. Slap Battles runs seasonal makeovers in October, and a fuller Halloween update was described as arriving in a couple of weeks after Oil’s release. No official date for that event is currently confirmed here, so treat the timing as approximate until the developers post it.

Past Halloween events give a sense of what tends to come with them. The most recent one brought the Harvester glove, The Cornfeared badge, the Little Coffin Of Horrors crate, a full overhaul of the Halloween-themed map, and returning gloves such as Hallow Jack, Rattlebones, Necromancer and Poltergeist. The seasonal map turns the sky to night, shifts the ground to orange, and scatters pumpkins, haybales and lamp posts across the arena and islands.

Slap Battles codes

Open Social Network using the white bird button on the screen’s left side. Enter a code in the field, then press Redeem Code; if it works, the reward is granted immediately. Most codes can be redeemed only if you already have at least 1,000 slaps.

Speculative strings like oilspill and halloweensoon have circulated but are not confirmed as functional. The codes below are the ones currently working.

If a fresh code refuses to redeem, check for typos and case, then rejoin to land on a server running the latest build. Between the new glove, the map rework and an event on the horizon, Oil is a solid reason to push your slap count past 17,716 and start laying fire across the arena.
