Fortnite Droid Tycoon: What the WG-22 Droid in the Gonk Army Event Does

The 24-hour Iconic Gonk Event unlocks a Gonk droid whose perk pushes Flawless crafting odds up to 8x.

The 24-hour Iconic Gonk Event unlocks a Gonk droid whose perk pushes Flawless crafting odds up to 8x.

WG-22 is an iconic Gonk-type droid tied to the Iconic Gonk Event, also called the Gonk Army Event, inside Fortnite Droid Tycoon. The event is the Week 2 beat of the month-long Gonk-O-Ween Halloween celebration, and it runs for a single 24-hour window. Unlocking the droid changes how often your crafting produces Flawless results, which is the whole reason players chase it.

Quick answer: WG-22 becomes available in the 24-hour Gonk Army Event when you craft droids and submit them to the event NPC. Its passive perk provides a 2x Flawless droid crafting chance and enables Sandcrawler Variant Boosts for the event.

Gonk Army Event window and timing

Gonk-O-Ween runs across October with four weekly events. The Iconic Gonk Event occupies Week 2 and is a short 24-hour activity rather than a multi-day one. It opens at 4:00 AM ET on October 10 and closes at 4:00 AM ET on October 11. Because the window is so tight, WG-22 can only be unlocked while that event is live.

During the event, three active multipliers apply across the map:

  • 2x Credits
  • 2x Pickaxe damage
  • 2x Crafting Speed

How WG-22 is unlocked

WG-22 is earned through submissions rather than bought directly. Craft droids as usual and deliver them to the event NPC; each delivery advances the unlock and grants other items too, with Halloween Treats and Nova Crystals alongside Crafting Boost Tokens.

You know the unlock has landed when WG-22 joins your roster as an iconic Gonk droid and the Sandcrawler Variant Boosts become active for the event. From that point its Flawless perk is applied to your crafting automatically.

The Flawless perk and 8x stacking

WG-22’s perk doubles the chance of crafting a Flawless droid. On its own that is a 2x multiplier, but it is designed to combine with two other Flawless sources that are active at the same time. Each one multiplies rather than adds, so they compound.

WG-22 perk2x
Event Flawless boost2x
Flawless Charm (Nova Shop)2x

With all three in play, the combined result is an 8x chance to craft Flawless droids. The Flawless Charm upgrade comes from the Nova Shop, so pairing it with the event boost and the WG-22 perk is what reaches the full multiplier.

Why the Flawless chance matters

Flawless droids feed into the top of the crafting ladder. The higher Flawless rate is what makes it practical to build top-tier purple Kyber Mythic Flawless droids, and it also feeds the paint unlocks that require collecting large counts of Flawless droids. For players focused on late-game crafting, that is the core value of holding WG-22 during the event.

Trick or Treat stations and Halloween Treats

Treats are the event currency, and they come from two kinds of station. Player Treats are collected from stalls sitting at other players’ bases, while World Treats come from stalls at Jawa homes scattered around the desert map. Each type caps at 5 per cycle.

Both station types run on long real-time cooldowns after you harvest them, stretching from several hours up to roughly 13 to 16 hours before they refill. Once a counter reads 5/5, that station type is spent until its timer clears.

Treats are spent in the Gonk-O-Ween Event Shop on limited-time cosmetics. Prices range from small hats and auras up to full costumes and a month pass.

v1.34.0 changes alongside the event

Update v1.34.0 ships with the event and adjusts a few systems that affect crafting and quality of life.

  • 6 new Blueprint Storage slots, available in the Nova Shop.
  • Epic R2 droid CPS raised from 360 to 480.
  • Epic B2 Heavy droid CPS lowered from 480 to 360.
  • Music can be toggled, including event music, at the boombox near the event stall.
  • Player and World Trick or Treat stations now have distinct icons.
  • Event cutscene no longer replays for players who have already watched it.
  • Fixed blueprints not being thrown correctly after being picked up from storage.

The same update raises the max rebirth path rank from 40 to 45, and the Super Rebirth tier shown requires Rebirth Rank 12 and Rainbow Legendary status, paying out 529 Nova Crystals along with large permanent upgrade bonuses.

Because the Gonk Army Event closes at 4:00 AM ET on October 11, the WG-22 unlock and its stacked Flawless chance are only reachable inside that window. Players treating this as a crafting push tend to line up the Flawless Charm purchase first so the full 8x multiplier is live the moment the droid is unlocked.
