Update 5.0 pushes Anime Squadron into a pirate-themed chapter built around One Piece units, a fresh rarity tier, and a cluster of new Oniganshina stages. It went live on October 9, 2026, and the version is labeled UPD 5.0 inside the game. The two units most players are chasing are Muffy (Gear 5), a Divine unit, and Zaro (King Of Hell), the first unit of the new Celestial rarity.
Quick answer: Update 5.0 introduces the Celestial rarity and its exclusive skill tree, the Oniganshina maps across Squadron, Corrupted, Raid and Invasion modes, a Pirate Event, and new units including Zaro (King Of Hell) and Muffy (Gear 5).
Celestial rarity and the new skill tree
Celestial sits as a brand-new tier above the existing rarities, and Zaro (King Of Hell) is the first unit to reach it. Only Celestial units can access the skill tree, which is the headline mechanic tied to the rarity.
The skill tree does not unlock through gems or gold. Each branch node is purchased with accumulated enemy kill counts, so a node can demand a milestone such as 500 kills before it becomes available. Nodes boost Attack, HP, or Defense, which means a Celestial unit keeps growing the longer it stays in rotation and racks up kills.
Oniganshina maps and game modes
Oniganshina is the pirate-themed location added in 5.0, and it spans several modes that each feed different materials and unit drops. The maps also come with a redesigned lobby and the Pirate Event banner.
- Oniganshina Squadron (Act 1 to Act 4) drops Devil Fruits from Act 1.
- Oniganshina Corrupted (Act 1) is where Zaro (Weno) drops.
- Oniganshina Raid (Act 1 to Act 4) drops the Ichimoji material.
- Oniganshina Invasion (Act 1) drops the Kitets material.
- The Oniganshina Pirate Event shop sells secret awakening materials for Belly.
Bosses show up across these modes, including Kaidu (King of Beasts) in Corrupted and Invasion, and Big Mum (Emperor) in Raid Act 4. The event currency, Belly, is the gatekeeper for the two most expensive shop items tied to the featured units.
Update 5.0 codes
Four codes arrived with the update and are redeemed from the in-game code window. They hand out gems, trait shards, and event Belly, which smooths out the early grind for the new units.
| Code | Notes |
|---|---|
UPD5.0! | Update launch code |
DrumsOfLiberation! | Gems, trait shards, event Belly |
GEAR5! | Gear 5 themed reward |

Zaro (King Of Hell): drop route and awakening
Zaro starts life as Zaro (Weno), a secret unit that drops from Oniganshina Corrupted stages at a 0.9% base rate, with pity at 200 runs. He is not summonable from the banner and does not appear in the regular inventory until that drop lands, which is a common point of confusion when searching the Story, Challenge, Raid, and Invasion tabs.
Once Zaro (Weno) is in hand, his stats can be pushed with Reroll Cubes and Perfect Cubes to reach S and SS grades before awakening.

Awakening Zaro (Weno) into Zaro (King Of Hell) requires a set of secret and mythic materials plus gold:
- 1x Ichimoji, obtainable in Oniganshina Raid Act 1 or Act 4
- 1x Anma, available in the Pirate Event shop at a cost of 20,000 Belly
- 1x Kitets from Oniganshina Invasion
- 100x Devil Fruits from Oniganshina Squadron Act 1
- The required gold

After awakening, his stats can be perfected to Triple S (SSS), and his three passives come online.

Zaro’s passives
Zaro is built entirely around bleed stacking, and the three passives chain into each other.
- Santoryu: inflicts a bleed that deals 15% of Zaro’s damage each second. It can reach 10 stacks and reduces enemy healing and regeneration by 75%.
- Enma: every bleed stack increases the damage of the other stacks by 15%. At 10 stacks, their combined damage is 23.5 times that of one stack.
- Ashura: every new stack extends the duration of existing stacks by 1 second.
Muffy (Gear 5): summon route and awakening
Muffy takes the opposite path to Zaro. Muffy (Nika) is a secret unit pulled from the Basic Banner at a 0.025% base rate, with pity at 5,000 summons. Belly can be funneled into banner pulls, so the Pirate Event doubles as a currency source for both awakening materials and extra summons.

Reaching the pity threshold guarantees Muffy (Nika), which is often how players actually secure the unit given the tiny base rate.

Awakening Muffy (Nika) into Muffy (Gear 5) needs the following:
- 1x Muffy’s Strawhat from the Pirate Event shop for 50,000 Belly
- 1x Rubber Core, awarded for finishing all five tasks in the Drums of Liberation special quest
- 100x Devil Fruits
- The required gold
Muffy’s leader skill and abilities
Muffy (Gear 5) supports the whole team and has a powerful leader slot. Her leader skill gives all Pirate units +30% damage and all Unbound element units +10% damage, making a pirate-focused board especially rewarding.
Her Awakening passive changes the battlefield for 8 seconds at a time, activating every 45 seconds; during that period, every ally’s basic attacks can hit all enemies on the map. Drums of Liberation also boosts all allies’ damage by +25% while the effect is active. Afterward, Bajrang Gun hits every enemy for 500% damage, with +300% for each unique team element, reaching a maximum of 2,000% with six elements. Her ultimate, Gomu Gomu no Kaminari, deals 700% damage over a wide area.
Traits: Superior and Cloner
Both featured units can be rolled for their trait using Trait Shards. The two top results carry heavy stat swings, and the pity values show just how rare they are.
| Trait | Effect | Chance / Pity |
|---|---|---|
| Superior | +200% DMG, +300% HP, +30% RNG, -15% CD | 0.1% / 1,250 |
| Cloner | +40% DMG, +60% HP, spawns 2 units instead of 1 | 0.2% / 800 |
Superior is the stronger of the two for a carry like Zaro, since the damage and range boosts stack directly onto his bleed scaling.

Taken together, Update 5.0 is a two-unit chase wrapped in a new rarity system. Zaro (King Of Hell) demands farming across every Oniganshina mode, while Muffy (Gear 5) leans on banner pity and a special quest. The Celestial skill tree gives the new tier a long-term progression hook that older rarities do not share, and it is worth tracking how the roster shifts once these units settle into the meta.
