Coins are the currency you grind in PORTALS, the arena shooter from Project Portal, and the fastest way to build a balance is simple combat. You earn coins mid-fight for eliminations, then collect a larger payout when the match ends in a win.

Quick answer: Queue a match from the lobby, win it through eliminations and headshots. Each elimination adds +1 coin to the ticker, and finishing with a victory pays a lump sum. A single win can net over 300 coins in about two minutes.

How coins are earned in PORTALS

Coins come from playing matches, not from any passive or idle mechanic. During a round, the HUD feed shows rewards for every kill: an elimination grants XP plus 1 coin directly to your running total, and headshots add to the XP on top of that.

The bigger chunk arrives at the end. Winning rounds and closing out the match with a VICTORY screen awards a lump sum that dwarfs the per-kill trickle. If the enemy team forfeits or leaves, that still counts as a win and still pays out. In one short Duos match, a balance can climb from 641 coins to 979 coins, a gain of 338 from roughly two minutes of play.

Run and win a match for coins

At the main lobby, select the green Play button centered at the bottom of the screen to bring up the match menu.
Pick a mode, then hit Find Match. Your options are 1v1 (Duel), 2v2 (Duos), 3v3 (Trios), 1v1v1v1 (Deathmatch), and FFA (Free For All). Smaller modes get you into combat faster.

When the pre-match vote appears, pick a map. The rotation includes Catwalk, Crown, and Pillars. The map you land on does not change your coin rate, so vote for whichever you fight best on.
Fight. Land eliminations with your equipped weapon to start banking coins one at a time, and aim for headshots to push extra XP. The starting Pistol deals 45 body and 90 head damage, enough that two clean headshots finish an opponent.
Close out the match. Winning your rounds, or having the opposing side leave, triggers the VICTORY screen that pays the lump-sum reward.
Press Continue to head back to the lobby. Your coin earnings from the match are applied automatically on return.

Queuing Duos or other small modes shortens matches, so wins and payouts come around more often than in a drawn-out FFA.

Confirm your coin payout

You know the earning worked when the coin counter in the lobby jumps after you tap Continue. The number carries your per-kill coins plus the match-win bonus combined. If the balance shown back in the lobby is higher than it was before you queued, the payout landed.

What coins buy in the Arsenal and Shop

Coins unlock most primary weapons in the Arsenal and pay for level upgrades and some Shop items. A few bundles and heavy weapons are locked behind Robux instead, so plan your spending around the coin-priced gear below.

ItemCost (coins)Type
SMG1,500Weapon
Shotgun3,000Weapon
Sniper5,000Weapon
Pistol upgrade (Level 1)100Upgrade
Starter Crate400Shop crate
Kill Effects400Shop cosmetic

Weapon levels run up to 100, and each upgrade costs coins, so a steady match routine funds both new guns and the ranks on the ones you already own. The RPG and Minigun bundles are priced only in Robux, so no amount of coin farming will reach them.

With the Shotgun at 3,000 and the Sniper at 5,000 coins, a handful of quick wins at a few hundred coins each adds up to a new primary in a short session. Keep queuing, keep winning, and the Arsenal opens up fast.
