Every Forsaken Dominion side quest in Norgan, what must be finished first, how each begins, and the rewards it can pay.

Norgan, the frozen region added in Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, holds a full Forsaken Dominion story line alongside its optional work. Most of that optional work is handed out in the Norgandian Settlement or by the research commission soldiers, and it opens in stages as the main story moves forward. Below is the complete set, with what each one needs beforehand, the first task that starts it, and what each one pays.

Quick answer: Norgan has 23 side quests. They open as the main story advances and are given in the settlement or by the commission soldiers; several pay different rewards depending on how you finish them.

How Norgan side quests unlock

These 23 quests sit on top of Norgan’s 12 main quests. Most become available only after a specific earlier quest is complete, and the people who give them are mainly the villagers of the Norgandian Settlement and the commission soldiers Wash, Morgus, Chrona, Amos and Ryatt. A few have no prerequisite beyond reaching Norgan and can be picked up as soon as you find the right person or object.

Lost Rites is sometimes grouped with the DLC’s new quests, but it is tied to the training arenas across Vermund and Battahl and begins through a separate choice Captain Brant offers. It is not among Norgan’s 23.

The Obelisks of Benediction can be lost. Treat it carefully if you want to keep it active.

Quest chains worth planning around

The hound line

Ilsa’s three hound quests run in order. In for a Hare, in for a Hound opens after Chilling Tidings and has you hunt an alpine hare to feed her pack. Finishing it unlocks A Direwolf Delicacy, where you bring the hounds a treat, and that in turn opens A Hound and His Bone, the search for the missing pup Skoll. Complete the chain and the final quest pays 60,000 XP and Alpine Hare Meat x3, plus either a Treatise on Lupinity or a Hound’s Scent Pouch.

Dwayne’s bout

When the Culling Gets Tough comes from Dwayne once Chilling Tidings is done, asking you to help thin Norgan’s rising monster numbers. Clearing it opens Bout of Passage, the coming-of-age fist fight you take part in for the village’s future guardian.

Ilda’s curiosity about Vermund

Oh, to Be in Vermund also needs Chilling Tidings and starts when Ilda asks for a Vermundian rabbit pelt. Once that is done, Flight in the Night becomes available, in which you escort Ilda out of the village while Dorin is on patrol.

Aymond and Mordria Temple

After The Castle in the Ice, the merchant Aymond gives Quilt Me Down with a Feather, a request for gagana plumes to make a blanket. Completing it opens Back to the Temple, a guarded escort into Mordria Temple that pays the chain’s heaviest rewards.

Sticks and Stones, then A Howl in the Dark

Sticks and Stones, available once Chilling Tidings is finished, has you break abandoned firepits for three heatstones and hand them to the researcher Ryatt; Morgus marks the firepit locations on your map. Finishing it opens A Howl in the Dark, where you track down the blackdog that took Morgus’s pendant.

After the main quest Reunion

Two quests open once Reunion is complete. Beyond Ruin-Night begins with a letter waiting on the spare bed at the Norgandian Inn, and A Keepsake, for Your Sake starts when you consult the scholar Polyeidus about a tremor to the north.

Commission quests after Rumbles in the North

Rumbles in the North, a Forsaken Dominion main quest, opens four of the commission-related side quests at once: The Truant Soldier, The Snatching-Beast, Village Defense and Reaching the Far Shore.

  • The Truant Soldier — find Amos, who strayed away as soldiers removed debris from the stronghold.
  • The Snatching-Beast — chase the snowfoot that stole the commission’s supplies.
  • Village Defense — cover Norgan’s watch for one night, giving Hal time to be treated, while Dwayne accompanies you.
  • Reaching the Far Shore — find a way across the Brine-infested Lake Norgan to recover a treatise for Jiera.

No Spoils Get Left Behind and Hal’s Treasure Hunt open after The Castle in the Ice instead. For No Spoils, speak with Chrona, who dropped her haul fleeing an ambush in Putrid Copse. For Hal’s Treasure Hunt, solve the puzzle of four posts placed across the Norgan Snowfield.

Rewards by quest

Where a quest can pay more than one set of rewards, each line is a single possible outcome, not a running total. Quests with a single reward follow the ones with several.

Alpine Hare Meat connects the hound quests: hunt it for Ilsa’s pack in In for a Hare, in for a Hound, and A Hound and His Bone awards you three pieces. This curative is available exclusively in Norgan and restores 50 Health when eaten.
