Portal Asylum is a Roblox arena fighting game built around teleportation, fast movement, and chained ability combos. Players drop from a central spawn hub into a pink-and-blue arena floor and fight other players directly, with kills tracked on a live leaderboard. What sets it apart from a standard brawler is the Portal Gun, which lets you open two linked green portals anywhere and jump between them to escape, flank, or reposition mid-fight.

Quick answer: You attack with M1, dash with Q, block with F, open portals with E, heal with T, and fire a Special with R and an Ultimate with G. Numbered keys 1–4 hold your equipped skills.

Portal Asylum controls and default keybinds

Every default control maps to a single key, and the full list is viewable in-game on the commands screen. These bindings cover basic combat, defense, movement, and the portal and ability systems.

RSpecial ability
GUltimate ability

Combat rewards stringing these together rather than firing one move at a time. Dashing and blocking matter just as much as attacking, since getting caught in an enemy chain can knock you down and eliminate you outright.

How the Portal Gun works

Pressing E deploys the Portal Gun, which places glowing green portal rings on walls, floors, and arena surfaces. Opening two portals in different spots links them together, so walking into one instantly drops you out of the other. Players use this to cover distance, cut off a chase, or warp to higher ground such as elevated steps.

The portals double as both an escape tool and an offensive one. You can slip through to break away from a group chasing you down a corridor, then reappear behind an opponent to flank them. Thrown items can travel through the portals as well, which opens up ranged plays with explosives.

Charging meters for portals, Special, and Ultimate

Abilities are not available on demand. Each one fills a meter, shown at the bottom center of the screen alongside your health, and the way it fills depends on the ability.

  • Portal Fluid, Special, and Regeneration all charge passively as you walk around.
  • The Ultimate builds charge solely when you damage opponents.
  • Press T to spend the Regeneration charge and recover health when injured.

Because walking refills most meters, staying mobile keeps your portals and Special ready. The Ultimate is the exception, so you need to land hits before it becomes usable.

Skills on keys 1 through 4

Keys 1 to 4 hold your equipped skills, and the set shown in play includes Chainsaw, Choke, Chest Beam, and Shotgun. These range from close melee to a grab and a short-range blast, and they are meant to be chained. A typical sequence opens with Choke to lock an enemy in place, follows with Chest Beam and Chainsaw, and finishes with a Shotgun hit.

Isolated skills are easy to punish. Linking them into a combo, with a dash or block ready to cover the gaps, is what keeps an enemy from turning the fight around.

Ultimates and Specials, with prices and effects

Ultimates fire on G and Specials fire on R, and both are things you equip. Several are bought from the shop, while two are free. Each one has a distinct effect, and a recurring theme is tearing both of an enemy’s arms off.

NameTypePriceEffect
Sun SwordUltimateFree~40% HP up close, weaker area attacks
The HandSpecialFreeOversized bandaged arm strike
Akira Palm LaserSpecial400Vertical yellow laser beam from the sky
ReviveUltimate600Full heal on death, area damage ~40% per hit, removes both arms
Heart TechniqueUltimate600~60% on first hit, then 5 steps to death
Neutrino BombUltimate1000Oneshots up close, removes arms at range

Revive is the one you use on death. It fully heals you and sets off an area explosion that does roughly 40% HP per hit while stripping both of a nearby enemy’s arms. It is strong enough in a crowd to wipe multiple attackers at once.

Neutrino Bomb is the priciest option at 1000. It throws a black sphere that detonates into a large crater, killing instantly up close and removing arms at longer range. It can also be thrown through a portal, so pairing it with the Portal Gun lets you drop it onto an opponent from an unexpected angle.

Heart Technique deals about 60% damage on its first hit, after which the target can take only five more steps before collapsing. That delayed kill can be avoided, since moving backwards counters it. Sun Sword, the free Ultimate, unleashes a swirling fiery slash worth around 40% HP at close range plus weaker area follow-ups.

On the Special side, Akira Palm Laser costs 400 and calls down a tall yellow beam, while The Hand is free and swings a giant bandage-wrapped arm. Between the free and paid options, the game gives you a usable loadout from the start and more punishing tools as you earn currency.

Put together, Portal Asylum is less about raw aim and more about managing movement, meters, and the portals that tie them together. Knowing which abilities charge by walking and which charge by fighting, and keeping a portal ready to break a chase, is what separates surviving a crowded arena from being ganged up on and knocked down.
